STATEMENT OF WORK

1. Objective/Requirements

The NASA Ames Research Center (ARC) requires the procurement of a MasterSizer 3000 Optical System.

2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs

LINE PART NO. DESCRIPTION QTY.

1 MAP3010 MASTERSIZER 3000+ PRO OPTICAL

SYSTEM

Mastersizer 3000+ Pro laser diffraction system with full Mastersizer Xplorer software, providing the ability to measure over a range from 0.1 - 2500 microns using a single lens.

The system's 690mm long optical bench includes a Helium Neon red laser (633nm, max 4mW) and a wide angle forward-scatter detection system (0.015 - 60 degrees) which provides consistent resolution across the measurement range. Auto-locking measurement cell cassettes enable rapid change-over of dispersion units, and ensure that maintenance tasks, such as cell cleaning, are simply achieved. Class 1 laser product.

Includes a full version of the Mastersizer Xplorer software, providing a unique, userfriendly interface for measurement control and data analysis. Includes the ability to automate measurements using SOPs, along with a report designer and expert data quality assessment tool. Real-time data tracking is also provided, enabling rapid method development according to ISO and USP guidelines. Includes 1 activation of Workflow Developer feature key (WRK0200) which includes access to Data Quality Guidance and SOP Architect. The recommended software computer requirements can be found in the current Software Update Notification.

2 FERTWRK0200 WorkflowDeveloper for Mastersizer 3000+ 1

3 MAP3210 MS HYDRO MV+ ACCESSORY1

Hydro MV medium volume automated liquid sample dispersion unit, with a 120ml sample tank. Designed for applications where sample quantities are small, or where dispersant use needs to be minimised. The high chemical compatibility of the unit ensures a wide range of dispersants can be used, providing a broad scope of application. Direct software control of variable power in-line sonication (Nominal:

35W at 40kHz), sample pumping/stirring (max flow rate 2.3l/min), system cleaning and dispersant filling provided. Full automation of sample dispersion and cleaning is possible using software-based SOPs. Flow path is constructed of 316 stainless steel, borosilicate glass, PTFE, PEEK, FEP, Tygon tubing. Requires, but does not include, a wet measurement cell such as MAP2010 or MAP2020. Chemical compatibility code A as standard. Maximum measureable particle size is 1400 microns when used with the Mastersizer 3000, Mastersizer 3000+ Pro or Mastersizer 3000+ Ultra (sample dependant). Note: Software upgrade CPS0128 must be ordered for this dispersion unit to be used with the Mastersizer 3000E or upgrade to Mastersizer 3000+ Pro (MAP4244)

4 MAP2020 MS Solvent Compatible Wet Cell

Chemically-compatible, auto-locking wet measurement cell cassette for the Mastersizer 3000 and Mastersizer 3000+ laser diffraction system. The cell type is automatically recognised by the software when the cell is placed into the optical bench. A unique window locking mechanism enables rapid cleaning of the cell following measurements, without the need for additional tools. This cell will work within any Mastersizer 3000 or Mastersizer 3000+ wet dispersion unit. Chemical compatibility code A.

5 MAZ8005 Mastersizer Self-Install Instruction

Mastersizer Self-Installation: The system is delivered with all the required hardware and software. Complete self-installation instructions and digital training resources are included in the system. The software can be installed on any suitable computer with plug and play functionality with the cables provided. There is no charge for selfinstallation.

Malvern Panalytical offer a range of training opportunities based on the end user's requirements. These additional training options are based on a customer's specific requirements and could include e-learning (if available), classroom training, existing SOP-method training, new method development or consultative applications solution development.

While these training opportunities are additional, a Malvern Panalytical customer will always have access to the high-quality Helpdesk technical support department that provides troubleshooting and/or general system/application guidance.

6 RIAT0011 LaserDiff REMOTE Included App Training

MS3000 REMOTE Initial Application Training This REMOTE Initial Application Training comprises an Application Specialist delivering an extended overview of the system's software and hardware that aims to provide best practice guidance. The specialist will also direct to the best resources available and how to use those resources to gain further confidence in utilizing your system towards meeting your needs. This is not applicable for Self-Installed systems. The training will be provided by Malvern Panalytical Application Specialist. Internet access is required for the training, with audio and visual capability. A video camera directed at the sample/instrument is recommended to support guided practical sessions (course dependent). Requires internet access to the instrument PC to allow remote access for a Malvern Panalytical employee to conduct the training. During the training session(s), control of the software and desktop applications can be handed back and forth between the user and instructor to allow a truly interactive training session. REMOTE Initial Application Training purchases are valid for 6 months from delivery or hardware installation, whichever is longer, up to a maximum of 12 months. PLEASE NOTE: If left unused this item has no cash value and cannot be exchanged, refunded or returned.
