About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) outlines requirements for a portable generator procurement for the X-59 Project at Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC). The generator will support test operations at Lockheed Martin's external run-stall location in Palmdale, California, where the current AFRC support equipment has shown reliability and redundancy issues.
The specifications call for a single diesel engine generator rated at 25 KVA single phase power, featuring an external 240V 50 Amp 60 Hz power port and 120V 20 amp 60 Hz outlets. The generator must be trailer-mounted with front tow hitches, operate for more than 24 hours, and meet EPA Tier 4 Final or EU Stage V standards without DEF requirements. Delivery requirements specify one generator meeting these specifications must be delivered to NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center at Edwards, CA within a 6-week procurement lead time.

Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) Statement of Work
X-59 Project FTIS 20-25 KVA Single Phase Generator Procurement
1.0 Background
Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) is currently performing test operations at Lockheed Martin in Palmdale California at the external run-stall location. To perform those operation the FTIS system requires a portable 240 volt 50 amp 60 hz power source with sufficient additional power to support accessories in the miniature mobile operations facility due to the remote nature of the testing at that run stall. The project has utilized AFRC support equipment up to this point but finds that the reliability and redundancy of these pieces of GSE have been lacking and determined to procure a primary source of power dedicated for the X-59 project.
