About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a Digital Image Correlation (DIC) system to be used for in-situ strain measurement and full field strain analysis at the NASA Glenn Research Center.
The SOW outlines the minimum requirements for the DIC system, including the Vic-2D software package, camera, optics, lighting, data acquisition, and mounting hardware. Key features include the ability to export virtual strain gauge and extensometer data in real-time up to 140Hz, and a customized VIC-Gauge 2D software with snap-to-marker functionality for strain measurement. The DIC system must also have a calibration feature to correct for changes in refractive index when viewing a specimen through a heating chamber viewport.
The related federal contract opportunity is a sole source justification to acquire the DIC system from Correlated Solutions Inc. under FAR Part 12 and Part 13. NASA intends to issue a sole source contract, and interested parties may submit capabilities information by the stated deadline to potentially compete the requirement.

STATEMENT OF WORK
Digital Image Correlation System Specifications and Requirements
NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) is interested in a Digital Image Correlation (DIC) system to be used for in-situ strain measurement and full field strain analysis to measure the strain of samples at elevated temperatures in an environmental chamber.
Specifically, the DIC system must meet the minimum requirements.
1) VIC-2D Digital Image Correlation System:
a. Vic-2D 7 with iris Digital Image Correlation Analysis Software
b. Vic-Snap LS Image Acquisition Software
c. Vic-Gauge 2D Real-Time Strain Monitoring Software
d. One Intel i7 PC w/ 1TB SSD, 8TB HDD, 64GB RAM, WIN 10, 24" LCD
e. One 2.3 Megapixel (1920 x 1200 @ 140 fps) Digital Cameras
f. One C-to-F mount adapters
g. One 100mm f/2.8 lenses
h. One Blue 55mm filters
i. One M55 x 0.75 Mounted Linear Glass Polarizing filters
j. Two CSI Blue LED Lighting Systems with Positioning Arms w/polarizing filters
k. One analog data acquisition system for LS, Gauge, & HS up to 250KS/s / 8 channels
l. One Aluminum Channel Stereo Mounting System with fine adjustment for low-speed cameras
m. One Professional tripod
n. One Super Pro Tripod Head
o. One Professional Tripod Bag
p. Two hard-sided carrying cases for cameras, lenses, and accessories
q. Includes one post-processing license on USB dongle
r. Includes CSI Gold System Maintenance with unlimited technical support and software upgrades for 1 yr.
s. Two year warranty on all non-consumables
2) Strain Measurement key features:
a. The DIC system must have ability to export virtual strain gauge and/or extensometer data in real-time up to the frame rate of the camera using their VIC-Gauge 2D software. The real-time output will have a maximum rate of 140Hz at full camera resolution. The speed can be further increased at reduced resolutions.
b. Must provide a customized version of the VIC-Gauge 2D software that will have the ability to snap to ellipse and quadrant markers placed on the specimen. A virtual extensometer can then use these two points to output the strain via a +/-10V analog signal.
c. Calibration feature that corrects for changes in the refractive index between the speckle pattern or markers and a stereo camera pair when viewing a specimen through one or more panes of glass (e.g., a viewport of a heating chamber).
