About this file
This statement of work and related federal contract opportunity describe a requirement for Zylon Poly-Benzobisoxazole webbing. The statement of work specifies that NASA requires 1300 yards of 3-inch wide Zylon PBO webbing custom manufactured to MIL-T-87130 Type XI Class 15 specifications. Material certification data sheets and documentation must accompany each lot delivered. The webbing must be delivered to NASA Langley Research Center by October 1, 2024. The related federal contract opportunity is a special notice that NASA intends to issue a sole source contract to Bally Ribbon Mills for this requirement, as they are the sole provider of the specialized Zylon webbing. The contracting agency is the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Shared Services Center. Interested parties may submit capabilities for consideration until March 14, 2024, but the requirement will likely not be competed on a full and open basis due to Bally Ribbon Mills' exclusivity.
