Better Value Features
1. Delivery timeframe of less than 16-weeks after contract award
2. Minimum recommended service cycle based on proposed model’s historical history
3. In support of the NASA “Buy-Quiet” goal, pumps shall emit noise levels as low as feasibly possible, with a target criteria of an A-weighted noise emission less than 85dB (A), as an A-weighted sound level measured at 1 meter during all operational states of the pump and motor. Impulse sound pressure levels should not exceed 130 dB LPC, peak at any designated measurement location and at the operator’s ear, during operation of the machine. Simplified technical guidance for measurement of sound level emissions can be found on the NASA buyquietroadmap.com website:
http://buyquietroadmap.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/Field-Verification.pdf.
a. The criterion applies to equipment operation at no load and under all anticipated and actual production loads under final installed conditions, including noise associated with the material handling, as applicable.
b. An equipment system consisting of multiple components (e.g., motor, gearbox and pump combination) shall comply with the criterion as a complete system rather than as individual components.
c. Sound control treatments shall be designed to permit access to equipment for operations and maintenance. These treatment designs shall not interfere with safety or reliability.
