Contract SOW for Inficon to procure both material components and associated labor support
Center: NASA KSC
1 Background The Mass Spectrometer observing lunar operations (MSolo) instrument is being developed at
KSC for the Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) program. MSolo utilizes a modified commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) approach where NASA procures a commercial mass spectrometer from Inficon, as well as support, and modifies the hardware to operate in a lunar environment. The same modified mass spectrometer is used in the Water Analysis and Volatile
Extraction (WAVE) instrument developed at KSC.
2 Objectives Inficon will support: modifications to the electronics, modifications to the structure, design meetings and reviews, any software or firmware changes required, calibration of the modified electronics at Inficon, calibration of the COTS and modified units at KSC, testing at KSC, and design of the calibration gas system (CGS). Inficon will also provide additional instrumentation necessary to support instrument calibration (such as vacuum gages) and replacement parts for limited life items.
3 Tasks Inficon shall perform the following tasks associated with the MSolo and WAVE instruments:
