High Frequency Response Three-dimensional Velocity Measurement System Specifications
A time-accurate, high-frequency response, pneumatic, three-dimensional instantaneous flow velocity measurement system is required for use in an industrial gas turbine engine environment.
Three probes are required, each with an operating temperature capability of 120 deg C with a frequency response of 48 kHz or greater. The probes will operate by measuring the instantaneous local air pressure (that is, they will be pneumatic in nature) using piezo-resistive silicone sensors.
The system must include the capability of acquiring data from two probes simultaneously. The system must be pre-calibrated and ready for use.
The system must include two computer controlled traverse systems (hardware and software) capable of positioning two probes simultaneously.
Calibration Requirements:
The sensors must be factory calibrated at five Mach numbers up to Mach 0.85. Raw data curves and calibration coefficients will be provided with the probes. The calibrated pressure differential in the range of 30 to 1150 milli-bar is required with a temperature range corresponding to the temperature capability of each of the probes provided.
The probes must be calibrated in a yaw between -30 deg to +30 deg and in pitch between -24 deg to +24 deg and both must be in increments of 2 deg.
Traverse Systems:
Two probe positioning systems are required for positioning of the probes in the radial and yaw dimensions along with any necessary computer hardware and software controllers and cables.
The traverse system must be able to position the probe over a radial distance of 320mm and a yaw range between -30 deg and +30 deg.
Hardware Mounting System:
The traverse and data acquisition systems must be housed in a 19 inch rack mounted on wheels for ease of use in a test facility.
Software:
The system will include computer software necessary for positioning the aerodynamic probes in addition to the software necessary for acquiring and post-processing the data.
On-Site Support:
Two days of onsite support are required.
