Background Honeybee Robotics has a long history with NASA GSFC, particularly in developing, building and delivering the Sample Analysis at Mars (SAM) Sample Manipulation System (SMS) which is currently operating on the surface of Mars. The SAM SMS utilized technical and mechanical designs which are robust and show that Honeybee is able to deliver flight handling systems, which continue to operate. The company is unrivaled in the space flight industry, and interface directly with NASA GSFC requirements and needs. We plan to leverage the SMS technology and development for application to another project, which requires Honeybee input and support. This contract modification covers labor and materials support for conducting a vibration test of the previously awarded brassboard, which Honeybee is building for this effort.

The cost for the vibration testing support from December 2020 to July 2021 will total $100,189.

Scope The contractor shall manufacture one (1) brassboard sample handling system that can survive a vibration test at GSFC for qualification. The construction of the brassboard is described in detail in the original contract.
