QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS 1

ACCESS CONTROL SECURITY SYSTEM INSTALLATION

1.) What are the existing hardware specifications for this site?

ANSWER: The specs are regulated by GSA and contractors are invited to perform a site visit to take measurements.

2.) What quantities of scramble pads versus quantities of regular readers will be needed?

ANSWER: We are looking for 15 scramble pads. No regular readers.

3.) As the ACS will include approximately 15 doors on this site, would the customer rather two MX-8 control panels be installed, which will max out both the control panels (each panel accommodates eight doors) or would the customer rather three MX-8 control panels be installed, which would satisfy the approx. 15 doors at this site and allow for spares and/or future expansion?

ANSWER: We only want 2 MX-8 control panels.

4.) Can further clarification be provided on the door hardware/devices that the contractor is to install?

ANSWER: Per the Statement of Work, Upon request, the contractor will be provided with access to applicable design plans and facility visit prior to submitting an estimate for the work required. The contractor will be always escorted by Government personnel during any site visit.

5.) Will this site be processing and making ID badges?

ANSWER: We just need to program ID badges for access at this site.

6.) Can further clarification on the workstation be provided (i.e. what size workstation; will a full workstation with a monitor, key board, etc. be needed)?

ANSWER: Per the Statement of Work, Upon request, the contractor will be provided with access to applicable design plans and facility visit prior to submitting an estimate for the work required. The contractor will be always escorted by Government personnel during any site visit.

7.) Several parts of the SOW state that the contractor will be required to use existing rack mounts in the CER; however, the SOW also states that the “server shall be installed in the contractor supplied rack inside the CER…” suggesting that an additional rack for the server will needed. Can further clarification on the rack to be used and if an additional rack needs to be installed be provided?

ANSWER: Server shall be installed in contractor supplied rack.

8.) Are there currently enclosures above each door at this site?

ANSWER: No

9.) Is the Hirsch/Identiv ACS to be standalone from the DMP?

ANSWER: Yes, but 1 room will need to open in the event of a fire alarm.

10.) Are the mortise locks noted in the SOW part of the existing hardware at the site?

ANSWER: Yes

11.) Can the customer clarify whether door hardware assemblies or electric strikes are to be installed?

ANSWER: We are looking for heavy duty electrified door strikes to be installed.

12.) Based on recent installations with Hirsch/Identiv, LifeSafety Power Supplies opposed to Altronix AL600ULACMJ have been requested and used. Will the customer be looking to make the transition to LIfeSafety Power at this site?

ANSWER: LifeSafety Power Supplies may be used if they are the technical equivalent.
