STATEMENT OF WORK

Forensic Dual Laser System

Description of a Forensic Dual Laser System for the Customs and Border Protection

Laboratories and Scientific Services Directorate (LSSD), San Juan, PR.

I. BACKGROUND

The Office of Operation Support, Laboratory Scientific Services Directorate San Juan

Laboratory (SJ LAB) has the requirement of a state-of-the-art Forensic Dual Laser System capable of generating a LASER light at both 445nm and 532nm frequencies. This system will be used to excite fluorescence imaging dust, glue, powder, dyes, and reagents used to develop latent prints on evidentiary items in the laboratory and in the field.

II. SCOPE

a. This document describes the product and execution requirements relating to the purchase of a new Forensic Dual Laser System to support the SJ LAB.

b. Product specifications, general design considerations, and installation guidelines are provided in this document;

c. The work included under this specification consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, materials and supplies, and performing all operations necessary to complete the delivery of the requested equipment; and

d. All parts, sections, and items of this Statement of Work (SOW) must be addressed by the Vendor. Any exception to any Part, Section, or Item, taken by the Vendor, must be clearly identified and an alternate solution be proposed.

III. DELIVERABLES AND DELIVERY SCHEDULE

A. Equipment

The Vendor shall deliver a forensic dual laser system with the following specifications as outlined below:

Technology Dual Laser (DD/DPSS System)

Dimension 10 * 12 * 20 in. or less

Weight Portable, less than 35 pounds

Fiber Type Armored

Fiber Length 5 feet or more

Beam Speckle - free

Beam Diameter Adjustable, preferable from 15 to 35 cm

Capabilities

- Startup time should be 10 seconds or less

- Backlit handpiece for use in dark environments

- Zoom optics for beam size control

- Laser switching between blue and green

- Universal mount for tripod or articulating arm

- Chassis mounted source lasers with heat sinks and computer controlled auto ramp fans, and fiber optic delivery to ensure long term laser reliability and stable operating power

Laser Power Field grade laser system with 10W of 445 nm (Blue) and 8W of 532 nm

(Green)

Input Power 110 V

Accessories

- Safety goggles

- Articulating arm

- Curved filters 62 and 67 mm

- Pelican case

- Rechargeable battery and padded support case

Safety Safety interlock with password or removable key

Familiarization At least One (1) day on-site training

Warranty At least one (1) year

Any proposed alternate equipment must be approved by the Government and shall comply with the DHS and CBP Technology. In addition, the Vendor bears the burden of satisfactorily demonstrating equivalence to the technical specifications outlined in this

SOW.
