6923G218Q000011 – Q&A The following questions are for Classroom Unit Ventilators Replacement:
Will there be any cutsheets provided?
The units are to be properly sized by the contractor.
The new units must vent exhaust outside. We do have to cut holes?
Wall penetrations currently exist, new units must be ducted to existing
Are we replacing outside louvers & dammers? Are there any specs?
No replacement of outside equipment.
Are these going to be pneumatics?
No, pneumatics are to be capped off.
Who will orchestrate the shutdowns? Are there isolation valves? Will it be by zones?
DPW will manage the project. Once selected, the contractor is to submit a schedule of needed shutdowns. All units currently have isolation valves at the units. Any broader required shutdowns will be scheduled through DPW
What is the CFM or capacity of the units?
To be properly sized by the contractor.
Will these new units Vertical or Horizontal?
These are vertical units.
Will we be given any lead-time?
Of course, lead time will be dictated by the manufacturer.
What are the current models installed?
Trane TUVA10VA1As11*15G12 Will there be any issues with scheduling multiple unit installation?
No, DPW will schedule all shutdowns and installations, ideally, we would like to cause as little interference with the classroom as possible, multiple installations in one day would help achieve this.
What floors are the equipment found on? How many flights? Elevators?
Second floor (Freight Elevator Available). Yes, a freight elevator it is approximately 8’ x 10’.
How big are the hallways and stairways?
Hallways are approximately 8’ wide; stairways are approximately 5’ wide.
For the Trane equipment, how much leeway is given in terms of equipment matching?
Btu ratings should match up. Physical size may vary; it will be up to the contractor to adapt the new units to existing piping and openings.
Will a bond be required for this RFQ?
This will be award as a service contract, which requires no performance bond. However, a certification of liability insurance is compulsory.
