DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY

502D MILITARY POLICE BATTALION (CID)

2745 KENTUCKY AVENUE

FORT CAMPBELL, KENTUCKY 42223-5612

CIRC-CZA 17 December 2018

MEMORANDUM FOR MICC S2P2 OFFICE

SUBJECT: Brand Name Letter for 502D Military Police Battalion (CID) FedBid Buy # 958513

1. BACKGROUND: The 502D CID BN has received a requirement to install standardized Interview Recording and Management System (IRMS) in order to be in compliance with CID Regulation 195-1 Ch. 5.8. United States Army Criminal Investigation Command (USACIDC) has mandated during its annual Criminalistics Committee meetings that CaseCracker will be the standard interview system utilized across the command. The reason for this is wide disparity among systems in CID offices and the problems that result in playback of recorded interviews. The U.S. Army Crime Records Center (USACRC) has been receiving recorded interviews they are unable to play due to the interview system having proprietary software that precludes viewing without the proper program. This issue has also created problems with supported Trial Counsels and Commanders viewing interviews on their computers.

2. PURPOSE: For the reasons listed above, the 502D MP BN (CID) requests that a brand name purchase of 3 hardwire interview rooms with case cracker capability.
