The MUOS Planner/Manager (MPM) course is specifically designed to address all MUOS IT Network Centric relevant topics for planner and manager roles. It includes the MUOS Data Collection Phase to identify frequency profiles to enable Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) radios to transmit simultaneous voice, video and data on the MUOS Internet Protocol (IP) based system connected to military IT NIPR/SIPR Networks; procedures setting up account access and requesting terminal profiles using the Joint Satellite Communications Management and Planning System (JSMPS), the hub of a network-centric suite of databases and applications supporting DoD SATCOM mission management; developing terminal profiles and Group IP addresses; how to request MUOS Legacy Gateway Component (MLGC) access (future capability set) to provide Legacy-to-IP based IT interoperability; and the process for securely ordering, generating, producing, distributing, managing, and auditing cryptographic products. The MPM course provides instruction into how to prepare, submit, verify, and validate requests for MUOS Profiles and Groups, and generate material to fulfill their requirements and position MUOS provisioners and operators for operational success. As with all STF MUOS courses, a MUOS and planning/provisioning overview is provided to establish context for other topics.

The Advanced Communications Instruction is a course covering all aspects of Radio Frequency (RF) communications. Curriculum topics include High Frequency (HF) operations, LOS waveforms including SATURN/HAVEQUICK II, and Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET) waveforms such as TSM and ANW2C, and SATCOM waveforms including MUOS. Training is conducted with an operations focus and walks participants through processes such as the planning, configuration, and mission execution aspects, and includes the systems and applications utilized. Students will gain valuable insight into the operation of various planning tools such as Cloud RF and Systems Planning Engineering & Evaluation Device (SPEED), ensuring successful communications in any environment. Various configuration platforms not limited to Communications Planning Application (CPA) and Joint Enterprise Network Manager (JENM) are covered, in addition to various IP applications facilitating data flow and how to traverse different mediums in the process. Training will culminate with live over-the-air communication on all waveforms, demonstrating how to utilize all voice and data services.
