16. DESCRIPTION OF CLOUD SERVICES AND PRICING

MetaMeta LLC is pursuing standardization of Mission Support functionality as a step toward a one-stop-shop solution for all information needs of the entire workforce of any enterprise, in any sector. MetaMeta is the name of our software. For starters, it is an Enterprise Management platform. But its standards-based ability as a cross-enterprise orchestrator is fully realized through its implementation in Amazon Cloud, in turn, making it eminently qualified to meet external information needs of the enterprise as well, in support of wide-area workflows and data exchanges.

MetaMeta Cloud Computing Services (MCCSs)

MetaMeta fully complies with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-145 definition of Cloud Computing. It consumes Amazon’s Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) models and encapsulates them within its own Software as a Service (SaaS) model, in turn, offering MetaMeta Cloud Computing Services (MCCSs) with ready-to-use functionality to manage People, Facilities and Assets, the three critical, enabling resources of any enterprise.

MCCSs align naturally with special procedure for consumption-based ordering under General Services Administration (GSA) Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) Information Technology (IT) Special Item Number (SIN) 518210C Cloud Computing and Cloud Related IT Professional Services. They are available for consumption on monthly subscription.

Customers do not incur any capital outlay nor need worry about security of the underlying infrastructure or platform.

These user-facing MCCSs follow a Verb/Noun naming scheme where the noun represents a standard label for a class of business objects and the verb represents a standard label for the action or operation on those objects. This helps users to choose appropriate service when taking a specific action on a specific object. Each MCCS, thus, helps users maintain the electronic representation of the enterprise as they perform actions on objects in the real world in the conduct of its business. Our goal is to make MCCSs as intrinsic a part of the day-to-day operations as possible and keep the real world and its representation in sync.

To further simplify/facilitate their consumption, MCCSs can be viewed as serving three types of users:

CODE USER TYPE MCCSs are meant for use by

GEN Generalist every member of the enterprise workforce, including contractors

MGR Manager all first level supervisors and up to the person at the helm of affairs

SPL Specialist users with special responsibilities that are distinct from managerial responsibilities

MCCSs are a growing collection of cloud services that are metadata driven. Developing new services does not always require developing new code and comes free of development costs to our customers. Following is the current list of available MCCSs grouped by Functional Areas: A more up-to-date list is available to subscribers on our website.

Functional Area – General Administration:

These services help build the Enterprise where every member of the workforce fills a unique position within it as we place the enterprise as a whole in the cyber world where it gets its unique identity and occupies its own unique space.

Contractors can also be added with this easy-to-maintain capability we call the Real Time Enterprise (RTE.)

Interactive visualization allows for a single Organization Chart for the largest enterprise. Managers simply need to effect the changes to their AORs as they occur and the visualization reflects those changes for the entire enterprise.

Functional Area – Location Administration

MetaMeta maintains Geography as a breakdown of the World, from continents, countries, states, counties, cities all the way down to street address and makes it available as a Universal Data Construct (UDC) for customers to attach their locations to, in turn, securing unique place(s) in the real world. These services help build the geographic footprint of the enterprise and allow for finer level breakdown into buildings, floors, rooms, offices, cubicles or aisles, racks, shelves, bins etc. as needed, for housing people and/or assets at the finest location grain.

Review Location review the breakdown of world geography request a new location for inclusion in the hierarchy. This allows for adding any missing tiers above the customer’s street address

SPL

Administer Location break down a street address into components upload coordinates (lat/long) from mobile device distribute administration of components suitably for finest location grain to house people and/or assets

SPL

MetaMeta’s geospatial visualization takes all standard features, from zooming in and out to Real Time Movement, up a notch, by allowing authorized users to enter a facility and go to a floor, room, office or cube to locate a person or aisle, rack, shelf, bin in warehouse or shop, to locate an asset or similarly drill inside a mobile asset to see who/what is on board.

Functional Area – Nomenclature Standardization:

MetaMeta unleashes, from its knowledgebase, the power of government standards, by extricating them from their legacy encumbrances and document orientation. We have loaded publicly available documentation on some of these standards into the knowledgebase to make them available as Universal Data Constructs for broader systemic consumption.

Review Product Classification review the taxonomy built around the two-tiered Federal Supply Classification (FSC) with a new top tier above the Federal Supply Groups and variable number of tiers all the way down to make and model.

GEN

Administer Product Classification distribute maintenance of the taxonomy over subject matter experts (SMEs) anywhere in the enterprise add a node under a parent move a portion of the taxonomy from one parent to another (rare but may be needed) add an attribute to a node

Note: This taxonomy allows access to manufacturers to attach their products to the lowest level of the classification

SPL

Review Service Classification review the taxonomy built around the Service Codes (part of the Product and Service Codes (PSC))

SPL

MGR

GEN

Administer Service Classification move a portion of the taxonomy from one parent to another

Review Industry Classification review the North American Industry Classification Standard (NAICS) taxonomy

SPL

Administer Industry Classification move a portion of the taxonomy from one parent to another

These constructs play a critical role in MetaMeta’s cross-enterprise orchestration. We also plan to bring in Standard Occupational Classification under the purview of our knowledgebase.

Functional Area – Asset Management:

With standardized nomenclature in place, MetaMeta simplifies getting a handle on the enterprise asset footprint.

With the entire workforce enabled, it is possible to distribute the data collection over them and quickly prepare a baseline of enterprise assets.

By attaching physical instances of assets to the lowest make/model nodes of product classification, each asset automatically inherits full description from the taxonomy.

Besides allowing for the workforce to periodically confirm their possession of assets issued to them, MetaMeta also makes it easy to track hand-offs by allowing both parties to the exchange to independently confirm to the system the occurrence of actual transaction.

Administer Asset instantiate a physical asset from the lowest node of product classification taxonomy (make/model) place asset at a location to mimic the real world move asset from one location to another within a street address

SPL

Issue Asset move an asset from its current location to "issues" folder and tagging it with the receiver – This represents the first half of the hand-off

SPL

Receive Asset move an asset from "issues" folder to self – This represents the second half of the hand-off and clears the issues folder

GEN

Return Asset move an asset from self to “returns” folder – This represents the first half of the hand-off

GEN

Receive Returned Asset move an asset from the “returns” folder to appropriate location – which clears the returns folder as the second half of the transaction

SPL

Confirm Inventory acknowledge possession of on-person asset to include status of its condition

GEN

We are working on inter-location asset transfers where intermediaries like runners or external parties like couriers are part of the end-to-end hand-offs.

Functional Area – Planning:

These services aim to clarify the pursuits of the enterprise in terms of its mission, objectives and goals which essentially clarify the very reason for its being. With the bulk of the work done at the enterprise, or the top level, MetaMeta simplifies the translation of pursuits of the enterprise as a whole into pursuits for the whole enterprise.

Each organization has the ability to choose a planning horizon, from quintennial down to weekly and even daily (like scrum) with ability to describe the As Is, the To Be and the strategy that will move the enterprise or the organization from where it is to where it wants to be, in turn, furthering the pursuits of the enterprise

Define State clarify the present (As Is) emphasizing what is unacceptable portray the future (To Be) of what is desired

MGR

Define Pursuit identify what action will help get the organization from As Is → To Be

Define Trait identify strengths and weaknesses of the organization MGR

Define Critical Success Factor

Identify factors outside the control of the manager that can influence the pursuit and/or the outcome

MGR

Define Measure identify unit to quantify the attainment of the To Be and the progress of a pursuit

An interactive visualization of the plan including all its elements can be made available to all stakeholders. The consolidation of all planning at the enterprise level can serve as the Integrated Master Schedule.

Functional Area – Queries:

Canned queries are available that work on a subset of data based on the manager invoking them.

Human Resource see their HR footprint and comparison of actual with budget

Organization visualize organization structure interactively GEN

Options see the empowerment of users with MCCS MGR

Usage see usage patterns of MCCSs MGR

Assets shows managers their asset footprint with ability to swap columns and rows, filter data by location/organization/product classification

MGR

Planning visualize plan and its execution interactively GEN

Functional Area – Miscellaneous:

An assortment of services is available that complements the capabilities in the functional areas discussed above:

My Tasks track small units of work that consume time but do not warrant to be included in the broader plan

GEN

Status Check to see if a person is online/available GEN

Whereabouts enable or disable being monitored geospatially GEN

Chat send receive text messages to/from others two-way video chat

GEN

Timesheet* update work-time for extra hours or time-off GEN

Review Timesheet* Approve or disapprove timesheet of direct reports MGR

* Services marked with asterisk will be ported from older version to new.

Functional Area – Metadata Management:

MCCSs are metadata-driven that use a business vocabulary. A new service does not always mean new code.

Define Term Introduce a term in MetaMeta’s business vocabulary SPL

Define Entity Identify a term as a data construct in MetaMeta’s architecture SPL

Define Attribute Identify a term as a property of an entity SPL

Define Event Pair a verb with a noun as a basis for service SPL

Define Modifier Identify an adverb to modify a verb or an adjective to modify a noun SPL

These services are currently not available for subscription but we will allow customers to visualize the ontology as a way to promote the business vocabulary as a standard. When we get to a point where MetaMeta becomes completely metadata-driven, we will open these services up so customers can build their own services.

Self-service is the underlying theme of MCCSs, consistent with Cloud Computing definition. A simple request for trial sets the ball rolling as the person at the helm of affairs is instantly enabled as user and empowered with just three MCCSs to begin the construction of the enterprise. All subscribers have access to online documentation where they can review the different functional areas, the MCCSs that fall under them and their description. They can also review monthly subscription pricing along the dimensions that form its basis, as explained below.

Basis for MCCS Pricing:

MCCSs are NOT priced individually. Following factors determine the monthly subscription dollar amount.

Volume-discounts: Number of Users and Number of Services are the primary drivers of subscription pricing.

Code Users

The subscription per user per service, thus, is lower toward the bottom right of the matrix and higher toward top left.

There are three additional dimensions that work on the two-dimensional matrix, to determine the pricing.

User Types, discussed earlier, impact the above matrix. The impact is minimum for services meant for the entire workforce. Although the impact of services meant for Specialists is highest, we expect their population to be small in a typical enterprise. Impact for services meant for managers is in between.

Cloud Deployment Model: MetaMeta is available in three deployment models as follows:

CODE MODEL TYPICAL USAGE

COM Community Meant for enterprises with small people/facility/asset footprint. Customers share MetaMeta’s private cloud infrastructure

HYB Hybrid Meant for medium to large enterprises whose enterprise data is housed in their exclusive virtual private cloud but is comingled with MetaMeta’s common data which we call Universal Data Constructs (UDCs.)

PVT Private The entire MetaMeta footprint is replicated at customer’s data center or private cloud, along with their enterprise data

Although more expensive than Community Deployment, we recommend Hybrid Cloud for all medium to large customers. MetaMeta is not available as a Public Cloud Deployment Model.

Term: MCCSs subscription pricing is designed to attract long term commitment as follows:

CODE DESCRIPTION

3Y Three-Year Subscription

1Y Annual Subscription

OD On-Demand Subscription

A three-year subscription costs less than one year which costs less than on-demand subscription.

The three dimensions – User Type, Cloud Deployment Model and Term, with each offering three possibilities, generate 3 x 3 x 3 = 27 volume-discounted pricing matrices. We list some of them below: A full list is available separately in the documentation submitted that lists 11 x 11 x 3 x 3 x 3 = 3,267 combinations and subscribers can also view the pricing interactively on our website with ability to slice and dice along the five dimensions.
