Labor Category: Principal Scientist 3 Minimum General Experience: 12 years of experience related to a technology-based discipline such as geospatial, biotechnology, or artificial intelligence as well as data management, imaging, cartography, systems engineering, systems integration, and/or systems architecture are required. Experience supporting the design, engineering, development, certification, or deployment of technical systems related to a scientific discipline is required.

Functional Responsibility: Provides strategic guidance on data management, technology implementations, or infrastructure modernization to support emerging missions and technologies. Stays informed on new science trends and technologies (e.g., imaging, sensors, radars, cloud-based techniques, artificial intelligence). Assesses the quality and utility of data from remote sensors. Demonstrates an understanding of image processing.

Provides insights into camera/array systems. Demonstrates proficiency in applying specific science and analysis principles, customer service, design techniques, data collection strategies, and/or related troubleshooting.

Demonstrates strategic and critical thinking skills.

Minimum Education/Training: A Bachelor’s degree in a related technical, mathematical, or scientific field such as engineering, computer science, or IT is required. A Master’s degree is preferred. Additional experience may be used as a substitution for educational requirements.

Labor Category: Mid-level Database Engineer 2 Minimum General Experience: 7 years of experience related to a technology-based discipline such as geospatial, biotechnology, or artificial intelligence as well as data management, imaging, cartography, systems engineering, systems integration, and/or systems architecture are required. Labor Category: Senior Geospatial Analyst/Scientist 2 Minimum General Experience: 4 years of experience related to geospatial analysis and remote sensing technology is required. Knowledge of geospatial sources and sensor types, such as Panchromatic, SAR, Infrared, multi-spectral sensors (national, commercial, and airborne sources), Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR), Full-Motion Video (FMV), Motion Imagery (MI), Hyper-spectral imaging systems, and/or Light Detecting and Ranging (LiDAR) systems is required. Experience using COTS and/or GOTS electronic light table (ELT) applications is preferred for traditional and non-traditional imaging systems, products, and imagery data formats. Demonstrated experience with Tasking, Collections, Production, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED) is preferred. Experience supporting the design, engineering, development, certification, and deployment of IT systems is preferred.

Functional Responsibility: Provides expertise in remote sensing capabilities, geospatial analysis, cartographic, littoral, marine, and photogrammetric capabilities that enable detailed technical analysis of geospatial information. Demonstrates experience in image science principles, including functional knowledge of geospatial information systems and geospatial capabilities. Functional Responsibility: Supports imagery science, imagery analysis, and/or photogrammetry assignments.

Provides imagery services and analysis in support of geospatial information imaging systems, products, and data formats. Supports technical analysis to ensure continuity of expertise. Supports algorithm development and validation for imagery science tasks. May demonstrate knowledge of sensor fidelity assessments, pixel registration, Tonal Transfer Curve, Relative Edge Response, MTF, and/or Signal-to-Noise-Ratio assessments.

May require planning and coordinating imagery collection for various missions, such as natural disaster response and law enforcement operations. May require preparing briefing materials and presentations, white papers, and other decision-making documents.

Functional Responsibility: Automates test plans and test cases based on requirements, user stories and technical specifications. Reviews quality specifications and technical design documents. Creates detailed and comprehensive test plans and cases. Develops test plans. Designs and executes test cases, including but limited to the execution of test automation scripts, development of automation testing scripts to verify data, and review of back-end trace stacks to identify application errors and exceptions.

Functional Responsibility: Provides comprehensive systems engineering and test engineering support, including but not limited to developing, reviewing, and implementing authoritative test documentation, such as TEMP, IV&V Strategy, TRR, and Threat Assessments. May revise documents based on significant changes.

May create new requirements and documentation, modify existing requirements in collaboration with implementation engineers, and prepare programmatic briefings for senior leadership (e.g. geospatial, imagery, remote sensing, production, photogrammetric, cybersecurity data, raw data, etc.). May require participation in various program and Test and Evaluation Integrated Product Teams and working groups validating test-related documentation and activities, and/or coordinating with portfolio teams, integrators, and end users for testing activities. May include supporting technical meetings, working groups, and technical reviews during test execution, and ensuring compliance with Program Test plans by validating Requirements Traceability Matrices.

May require updating testing program documentation by reviewing test result briefings and certification recommendations. May develop and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs) and/or Requirements Verification Traceability Matrices (RVTMs) as required.

Experience supporting the design, engineering, development, certification, and deployment of IT systems is required.

Functional Responsibility: Focuses on advancing systems through software development and technical engineering support. May assist in developing and maintaining tools using a variety of programming languages such as Java, AngularJS, JavaScript, Python, Perl, C/C++, and SQL, and working with operating systems such as Linux/Unix, Windows, and Alpha/OpenVMS. Experience with databases and tools, including SQLite, MariaDB, MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL Server, is desired.
