LABOR CATEGORY DESCRIPTION

GUARD I

Educa�on: Requires high school diploma or GED and comple�on of a cer�fied security training program or local, state, or federal law enforcement training academy.

Experience: Two years of con�nuous work experience that demonstrates reliability, dependability, and good judgment. Must successfully complete a background inves�ga�on, including criminal and employment checks as well as a drug screening. Must have good interpersonal skills and present a neat and professional appearance. Three years of con�nuous work experience that demonstrates reliability, dependability, a�en- �on to detail, and a good work ethic. Required to demonstrate con�nuing physical fitness.

This guard carries out detailed instruc�ons and procedures primarily oriented to ensure that emergencies and security viola�ons are readily discovered and reported to appropriate authority. The primary duty is to observe and report security and emergency situa�ons. This guard intervenes directly only in situa�ons which require minimal ac�on to safeguard property or persons. Du�es require minimal training and physical fitness standards.

GUARD SUPERVISOR

GUARD II

The Guard II enforces regula�ons and procedures designed to prevent breaches of security, exercises judgment and uses discre�on in responding to incidents and emergencies, determining whether to intervene directly, ask for assistance as �me permits, keep situa�on under control or surveillance, or to report incident or situa�on to the appropriate authority for handling. Du�es require specialized training in methods and techniques of protec�ng controlled areas. Commonly, the Guard II is required to demonstrate proficiency with firearms and other special weapons, and to meet rigorous physical fitness standards

POLICE OFFICER II

Educa�on: Associate degree in Security related field. Must successfully complete a firearms qualifica�on program annually and comply with state law cer�fica�ons

Experience: Must meet one of the following experience/educa�on requirements:

o Prior experience in military (combat arms preferred) o Federal, state, and local law enforcement experience o Three years’ experience as armed security guard o associate degree in Security related field

In addi�on to the basic police du�es described at level I, the Police Officer II receives addi�onal compensa�on to specialize in one or more ac�vi�es, such as: canine patrol, special reac�on teams, juvenile cases, hostage nego�a�ons, and par�cipa�ng in inves�ga�ons or other enforcement ac�vi�es requiring specialized training and skills

POLICE OFFICER I

Carries out general and specific assignments from superior officers in accordance with established rules and procedures. Maintains order, enforces laws and ordinances, and protects life and property in an assigned patrol district or beat by performing a combina�on of du�es as: patrolling a specific area on foot or in a vehicle; direc�ng traffic, issuing traffic summonses; inves�ga�ng accidents; apprehending and arres�ng suspects; processing prisoners; and protec�ng scenes of major crimes. May par�cipate with detec�ves or inves�gators in conduc�ng surveillance opera�ons.

CORRECTIONS OFFICER

Educa�on: Requires High School diploma or GED cer�ficate and comple�on of a cer�fied correc�ons train-ing program, including sa�sfactory comple�on of cer�fied firearms and defensive tac�cs courses. Must addi�onally have at least 15 semester college credit hours in Correc�ons, Criminal Jus�ce, Psychology, Sociology, Family Rela�ons, Guidance and Counseling, Pastoral Counseling, Social Work or Law Enforcement. Any bachelor’s degree or two years of sa�sfactory Correc�ons Officer employment at the state or federal level fulfills the educa�on requirements. Required to demonstrate con�nuing physical fitness and proficiency with firearms or other special weapons

Maintains order among inmates in a prison or local jail. Performs rou�ne du�es in accordance with estab-lished policies, regula�ons, and procedures to guard and supervise inmates in cells, at meals, during recrea�on, and on work assignments. May, if necessary, employ weapons or force to maintain discipline and order. Typical du�es include: taking periodic inmate counts; searching inmates and cells for contraband ar�cles; inspec�ng locks, windows, bars, grills, doors, and grates for tampering; aiding in preven�on of escapes and taking part in searches for escaped inmates; and escor�ng inmates to and from different areas for ques�oning, medical treatment, work and meals. May act as outside wall guard, usually on rota�on

COURT SECURITY OFFICER

Patrols courthouse to provide security. Escorts defendants to and from courtroom and stands guard during court proceedings. Monitors courtroom for security. Assignments include not only the control of entrances to the court but also a�en�on to the special needs of the court system, par�cularly in the area of personal protec�on for the judges, jurors, witnesses, a�orneys and other persons involved with the court, including the general public. COURT SECURITY OFFICER SUPERVISOR

Educa�on: High school diploma or GED cer�ficate and comple�on of a cer�fied security training program or local state or federal law enforcement training academy. Must successfully complete a firearms qualifica�on program annually

Experience: Five years of con�nuous security, law enforcement, or military police experience, of which at least two years must be supervisory in nature and at least two years of experience as an armed security officer. Specialized or supervisory experience includes: project development, management and control of funds and resources, demonstrated capability in managing mul�-tasks and supervising one or more subordinate units consis�ng of a squad or mul�ple squads of security or law enforcement personne. Must successfully complete a background inves�ga�on, including criminal and employment checks as well as a drug screening. Must have good interpersonal skills and present a neat and professional appearance.

Responsible for enforcing work standards; scheduling security force personnel, including analysis of resources and workload; analysis of Contractor’s performance and implementa�on of change to improve opera�ons; interprets policy standards and direc�ves and formulates strategies for improving policies, processes and direc�ves; par�cipates in recruitment, hiring, qualifica�on and termina�on of security officers; reviews work discrepancies; supervises Contractor personnel; training of subordinates; preparing, reviewing and submi�ng required reports and communica�ng policies, purpose and goals of the organiza�on to security officers; prepares opera�onal reports; ensures complete security coverage of assigned facility; counsels and disciplines security officers and implements post and general orders. Shall be responsible for the overall contract performance for specific �mes (shi�s) and/or loca�ons (districts, zones, etc.)
