• There is a 2-hour minimum for all “other” language services.
• Quotes can be provided upon request
• Any Media Production services canceled or changed once any portion of the media production video has been initiated will be billed for the full amount of the video quoted.
• Note taking or reader services canceled or changed less than 2 business days (excluding weekends and Holidays) in advance of the start time will be billed for the amount of the scheduled time
• Turn around time: Media Production projects will be returned to the customer completed in 7-10 business days.
• Last minute notice assignments are requested with less than five (5) business days’ notice (excluding weekends and Holidays)

LABOR CATEGORY DESCRIPTIONS
Sign Language Interpreter A qualified American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter is an individual who possesses the necessary skills, knowledge, and credentials to effectively facilitate communication between for Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing individuals.
Qualifications for ASL interpreters include the following:
1. Proficiency in ASL: The interpreter should have a high level of fluency in American Sign Language, including knowledge of ASL grammar, syntax, vocabulary, and regional variations.
2. Understanding of Deaf Culture: An understanding and respect for Deaf culture, including its norms, values, and communication preferences, are essential for effective interpretation.
3. Accuracy and Neutrality: ASL interpreters must maintain strict impartiality and accuracy in their interpretation.
4. Education and Training: ASL interpreters often have formal education and training in interpretation techniques, linguistics, and Deaf studies. This may include completion of interpreter training programs or degrees in interpretation or related fields.
5. Ethical Standards: ASL interpreters must adhere to a code of professional conduct, which includes principles such as confidentiality, impartiality, accuracy, and cultural sensitivity.
6. Continuing Education: To maintain their skills and stay current with best practices, qualified ASL interpreters often participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
Overall, a qualified ASL interpreter is someone who has the linguistic proficiency, cultural competence, professional credentials, and ethical standards necessary to provide accurate and effective interpretation services in various settings.
Minimum Experience/Education: Three or more years in the interpreting field with demonstrated proficiency in the English language and American Sign Language.
Interpreters hold a bachelor’s degree in ASL/English interpreting or equivalent area.

Legal Sign Language Interpreter A legal American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter is a professional who specializes in providing interpretation services specifically within legal contexts, such as courtrooms, law offices, police stations, and other legal settings. These interpreters play a crucial role in ensuring that deaf or hard of hearing individuals have equal access to the legal system and can fully participate in legal proceedings. Here are some key aspects of a legal ASL interpreter:
Minimum Experience/Education: Legal ASL interpreters typically hold certifications specific to legal interpretation. Legal interpreters have a deep understanding of legal terminology and procedures in both spoken and sign language. This includes familiarity with various legal documents, courtroom protocols, and specialized terminology used in legal contexts.
DeafBlind Sign Language Interpreter A DeafBlind American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter is a specialized professional who facilitates communication between individuals who are both Deaf and Blind. DeafBlind interpreters are trained to work with individuals who have varying degrees of vision and hearing loss, enabling them to access information and communicate effectively in a wide range of settings. Here are some key aspects of a DeafBlind ASL interpreter:
1.Tactile Communication: DeafBlind interpreters are trained in tactile signing, which involves using touch to convey ASL signs to individuals who are deafblind. This may involve placing hands over the hands of the DeafBlind individual to feel the signs being produced.
2.Visual and Auditory Adaptations: Depending on the specific needs of the DeafBlind individual, interpreters may include visual cues and information into their interpretation to inform the DeafBlind individual movement in a room, participants in a meeting, etc.
Minimum Experience/Education: DeafBlind ASL interpreters have experience specific to DeafBlind interpretation to include Protractile, Tactile and Haptics.
ASL Media Production Services Vancro’s Media Production services include:
1. Interpretation of written documents into American Sign Language and/or videos of information being distributed to hearing audiences that can also be accessed by ASL users in their native language.
2.Media Production services provide access to a variety of consumers including, but not limited to, Deaf, DeafBlind, Blind, English as a second language users, developmentally delayed individuals etc.

3. The productions Vancro provides include information presented in American Sign Language with English Voiceovers and English captioning in yellow font (for low visioned individuals), compatible with screen readers.
4. Media productions include a title/opener and logo branding. Additional graphics, title pages, and visuals can also be added per request.
5. Vancro’s media interpreting team is fully comprised of highly qualified professional Deaf Interpreters. The use of Deaf Interpreters guarantees the interpretation to be in the purest form of ASL, including expansion of the message where appropriate, in alignment with the nuances of the Deaf communities we serve and culturally appropriate to convey the intended message of the source material. Vancro prioritizes the use of local Deaf interpreters as well as best fit interpreter for the video being interpreted. These two methodologies are utilized where applicable per request. The use of local Deaf interpreters ensures the interpreters are familiar with the local community phrases, locations, etc.
Minimum Education/Experience: Media Production interpreters must be Deaf, with 3 or more years’ experience in the interpreting field. Must possess the requisite confidential space for interpreting content, professional background, lighting, and camera equipment appropriate for clear interpretation.
Reader Services A reader for the blind and visually impaired is an individual who assists individuals with visual impairments by reading aloud printed text. Readers play a crucial role in facilitating access to printed materials, including books, documents, newspapers, and other written materials, for individuals who are unable to read due to vision loss. Here are some key aspects of a reader for the blind and visually impaired:
1. Reading Aloud: Readers read printed text aloud to individuals with visual impairments, allowing them to access information that they may not be able to read independently.
2. Clear Pronunciation: Readers enunciate words clearly and accurately, ensuring that the content is understandable to the listener.
3. Confidentiality: Readers respect the privacy and confidentiality of individuals they assist, maintaining discretion and confidentiality regarding the content of the materials being read.
Minimum Education/Experience: Three (3) years of experience as a Reader or related field. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred, but not required.

Notetaking Services Professional notetaking services refer to a specialized service provided to individuals who may have difficulty taking notes independently due to various reasons, such as disabilities, or other challenges. These services are designed to ensure that individuals have access to comprehensive and accurate notes to support their learning, work, or other activities. Here are key aspects of professional notetaking services:
1. Accessibility: Professional notetaking services aim to make information accessible to individuals who may have difficulty taking notes themselves due to disabilities, such as visual impairment, hearing impairment, mobility issues, or cognitive challenges.
2. Customization: Providers of professional notetaking services tailor their approach to meet the specific needs and preferences of each individual client. This may include adjusting the format of notes, accommodating different learning styles, or incorporating specialized terminology or symbols as needed.
4. Confidentiality: Providers of professional notetaking services adhere to strict confidentiality standards to protect the privacy of the individual receiving the notes. They ensure that sensitive information shared during lectures, meetings, or other activities is handled with discretion and care.
5. Timeliness: Professional notetaking services strive to deliver notes in a timely manner, ensuring that individuals have access to the information they need when they need it. This may involve providing real-time notetaking during lectures or meetings or delivering notes shortly after the event.
