Recursion provides subscription, training and support of all Recursion Analyzers. Recursion
Analyzers are our cloud-based and online-based tools, that are user-friendly, reliable, and fast.
Recursion Analyzers include:
Cohort Analyzer
Allowing users to build cohorts from loan-level data. It is the classic GUI based querying tool for nearly 90mm single family first lien mortgage loans (38 million outstanding) securitized in agency MBS. Loan level data coverage is 100% for pools issued in or after 2013. Data is distinguished between bank and nonbank sellers and servicers. Geographic data is available at the state level. Cohort Analyzer is based on data disclosed by the mortgage agencies Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Ginnie Mae. Recursion applies cleaning to this data and makes other analytical enhancements. Cohort Analyzer can also operate on CMO collateral groups, customer portfolios, and the FED's portfolio.
HECM Analyzer
Allowing users to build cohorts from loan-level and participation-level data for reverse mortgages. It is the comprehensive tool used to study the performance of reverse mortgage loans endorsed by FHA and securitized through Ginnie Mae's HECM program. Allowing users to query the issuance and performance of $60 billion HECM market. The data contains more than
10 million individual loan pieces and enables users to obtain important performance measures such as prepayment speeds, mandatory re-purchase speeds, draw rates at the loan level, among others. HECM Analyzer can also analyze HECM CMO collateral groups and HECM customer portfolios.
Pool Level Analyzer
Allowing users to build cohorts from pool-level data to track issuance and performance of agency mortgage pools. Pool level data go back to 1994, covering pools backed by loans with a balance of close to 9 trillion USD. In addition, it contains information of the derived Mega, Giant and Platinum pools. Pool Level Analyzer can also analyze Spec pools, CMO collateral groups, customer portfolios, FED portfolio etc. Users can track underwriting standards, voluntary/involuntary prepayments, defaults, etc.
HMDA Analyzer
Allowing users to build cohorts from loan-level data reported to HMDA and collected by
Recursion. Allowing users to query 640mm mortgage applications and originations, including
317mm originations from 1990-2021. The HMDA databank is organized around mortgage originators. As with the loan-level data in agency pools, Recursion distinguishes the data between bank and nonbank lenders. In addition to the information available in securitized loans, HMDA provides users with information for loans that are held on book and not placed in agency pools.
