LABOR CATEGORY DESCRIPTIONS

The following table describes the professional labor categories in our GSA Consolidated Contract. Price comparison should be made with consideration of the qualifications reflected in each labor category including experience and education.

Position Description

Emergency Manager Reports current information relative to the status of the work to be incorporated into the emergency briefings to the Project Executive and/or other emergency response personnel as needed. Manages the emergency operational aspects of the project and scope, ensures that the project standards and safety practices are being adhered to and communicated with essential and non-essential personnel.

Ensures that project documents are complete, current, and returned to the proper office personnel.

Experience: 5+ years working in the construction or environmental services field or similar technical field. Has excellent interpersonal skills and is able to effectively supervise members of the field team. Has strong communication with office staff and superiors. Has excellent organizational skills. Manages emergency operational aspects of projects. Has excellent grasp of federal, state, and local regulations, construction codes and safety regulations. Has experience with estimating and job costing projects.

Minimum Education: BS/BA (Engineering, Business Management, Communications and/or any combination of related field experience) or as a suitable substitution a Construction Management Technical Degree or Project Management Technical Degree or 5+ years in a technically related field experience.

Field Supervisor An in the field Leader who reports to the Project and/or Emergency Manager effectively plans work assignments, determines material needs and estimates time of hazardous waste clean-up. Documents various aspects for the project and submits to the office staff for inclusion in the closure reports. Responsible for waste tracking and accurately completing the waste generation forms in support of the waste generation tracking system. Ensures safety and quality

Position Description control on the project. Documents change orders and develops backup to support the requirements.

Experience: 3+ years of experience as an Environmental Technician. Extensive knowledge for proper waste removal required. Effectively leads the team in the successful completion of hazardous waste removal projects. Has excellent communication skills.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent and 40 hour HAZMAT certification.

Lead Environmental Tech Assists in planning and executing work assignments, determining material needs and time required of hazardous waste clean-up. Has general knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations for the packaging, transportation, and documentation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams. Reporting to the Project and/or Emergency Manager, and Field Supervisor work progress as well as aiding in hip-to-hip safety functions to ensure established engineering controls are being adhered too and functioning.

Experience: 2 years of experience in a similar technical field. Has proper HAZMAT certification. Has extensive knowledge of the proper steps involved in removing hazardous waste Effectively assists the supervisor in running the team during waste removal and clean up.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent and 40 hour HAZMAT certification.

Field Technician

Removes and disposes of hazardous materials and prepares worksite to ensure safety of other employees and the public during removal. This includes the implementation of engineering controls in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Experience: minimum of 6 months of experience in a similar technical field.

Previous experience removing hazardous materials. Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regarding the removal of hazardous materials.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Equipment Operator Responsible for the operation of various types of heavy machinery. This includes the maintenance of the machine, the safety of the personnel working in and around the equipment, the safety of the personnel outside of the work area, and the proper use of the machine. Works with the project engineer and manager to develop standards for the overall use of the equipment and the proper flow of the heavy equipment work.

Experience: 3+ years of operating equipment in a similar technical field (construction or environmental work). Has knowledge regarding weight capacities for hoisting and rigging materials and sloping and shoring for trenches. Has an excellent understanding of quantities in relation to cubic yards. Has an excellent understanding of safety requirements around the site.

Experience with spill response stabilization, cleanup, and mitigation methods, and be fully trained for response cleanup activities per OSHA requirements;

additionally, they must be properly trained on the care and use of the specific equipment used for any particular project.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent and HAZMAT and/or ACM certifications

Field Chemist Removes and disposes of hazardous materials and prepares worksite to ensure safety of other employees and the public during removal. This includes the implementation of engineering controls in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Assists in planning and executing work assignments, determining material needs and estimating cost and time of hazardous waste clean-up. The Chemist will aid in the observation, characterization, and analysis of substances encountered during emergency operations. The Field Chemist may conduct field experiments to identify applicable situational chemical reactions to ensure the safety of all persons on site.

Experience: 7+ years working in the environmental services field or similar technical field. Has excellent mathematical skills and is able to effectively communicate hazards to the field team. Has strong communication with office staff and superiors. Has excellent organizational skills. May aid in the management of emergency operational aspects of projects. Has excellent grasp of federal, state, and local regulations, construction codes and safety regulations. Has experience with EPA analytical methods, waste profiling, waste documentation, and waste characterization.

Minimum Education: BS (Chemistry, Biology) and/or any combination of related field experience) or as a suitable substitution 10+ years in a technically related field experience.

Administrative Assistant Updates and maintains all accounting records. Updates and maintains all project files with information from the field representatives. Provides up-to-date information about the company to potential customers and gathers all necessary information leading up to the start of a project. Additional support as assigned.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience as administrative support in a professional setting. Requires competence in basic office skills such as answering phones and using office machinery. Must have knowledge of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent
