Pre-Bid Questions
1. 14210, 12.1 - Schedule states Overall Platform Size, Width and Depth. Shows "Provide
New". 32.1 states "Retain existing car frame and Platform. Are the platforms and slings new or retained? RETAIN
2. 14210, 33 - Items marked 37.1 and 37.2 should read 33.2 and 33.3. Is that correct?
Correct
3. 14210, 33 - The cab shell and canopy are retained. The return walls, transom, and columns are new. Are the other cab interiors new? Retain existing cab interior panels.
4. 2.0 RELATED WORK, 2.1, I - Does GSA want new HVAC for each of the elevator machine rooms (4 Total)? Yes, Correct. New HVAC units in all Elevator M/R’s.
5. 10.0 INSTRUCTIONS, 10.1 - Can the elevator contractor provide one (1) 8-hour instruction period for all the cars since they are similar? Yes they can.
6. 13.0 ELECTRIC FEEDERS AND WIRING, 13.1 - Since removal of all sprinkler heads and sprinkler piping is required by the specification, do we need to provide Shunt Trip
Devices for all cars? Sprinklers in the elevator machine rooms must remain in operation, therefore new shunt trip disconnects will be required.
7. 37.1, A - Retain Existing Wall Panels. Does this statement pertain to the Interior panels mounted on the inside of the cab shell or the panels that make up the cab shell walls?
Retain the decorative interior wall panels, and also the cab shell.
8. Does the sound proofing in the machine room walls for car #3 (Judges Car) need to be removed or is it fire rated? If the sound proofing cannot be proven to be fire rated, it must be removed to maintain the M/R fire rating.
