Request for Proposal 47PF0018R0128 Minneapolis Federal Building Service Elevator Replacement

Q. Is an Elite PI required for a 2 landing elevator? Page 14250 page 18 Item 2.11.8. Suggest keep Innovation standard PI

A. Yes, the AHJ for the GSA indicated that the Elite PI be specified for this elevator. No other form of car PI is acceptable.

Q. Is Maxton valve approved?

A. The Bucher Hydraulics LRV-1 electronic control valve or similar is preferred, the key is that it is required to be an electronic control valve

Q. Is the building management aware this elevator will not be stretcher sized

A. Building management is aware of this, it isn’t an issue. There are alternative ways to exit the building without using the elevator.

Q. Is the KONE non-proprietary controller approved for use on this elevator?

A. Yes, as long as it meets the performance requirements similar to the MCE Motion 2000

Q.. Will there be a spot to put a dumpster in parking lot during project?

A. One parking space may be used for a dumpster.

Q. Will we be allowed to park in parking lot during project?

A. No, access will be allowed to drop off and pick up materials and tools at the loading dock but parking will be off site.

Q. Are the rain soils reports to identity the soil below slab on grade?

A no

Q. Will there be any noise restrictions during the construction?

A. No, during times of excessive noise, prior to conducting the activity connect with the building Project Manager, they can communicate the conditions to tenant agencies.

Q. Please identify any exterior staging areas or locations for dumpsters

A. No exterior staging will be available. One parking space will be available for a small dumpster.

B. Interior staging is available thru the 2nd St. basement emergency exit, the interior space at that point of entry would be available for staging (emergency exit cannot be blocked).

Any point the door will remain open it will require an armed guard or GSA Personnel to manage access. This point of entry is to allow for materials in and out, it will not be used as a contractor entry/exit point.

Q. Where are we to pipe evaporator condensate?

A Drawing 2/MP200 notes for a condensate pump to be provided and to route pumped condensate to the new safewaste in the mechanical room. Exact pipe route to be coordinated with existing conditions - contractor to verify in field.

Q. What is the existing roof material at new condenser unit location?

A Built up asphalt roof system, 7 years old.

Q.Is there a roof warranty at location of new roof curb and if so what manufacture?

A Roof is under 30 yr warranty. Warranty contractor is Schwickert’s Tecta America LLC in Mankato, MN

Q. What is the thickness of concrete SOG at locations where saw cutting will occur?

A Proceed with assumption that slab is 4” thick. Contactor will need to verify in field

Q. Detail 2/MP700 identifies 4” concrete pad for sump pump, see structural drawings. Where are the structural plans?

A Provide 4” thick slab below sump basin as noted in MP700. Slab to have #4@12” o.c. each way centered in slab.

Q. Which control firm supports the DDC system and who has the current service contract A BAS is Johnson Controls metasys 7.0. Bacnet.

Q. Does the new elevator room require 4” curb around all sides? If so, how are we to secure to existing floor surfaces.

A 4” curb is only under elevator equipment. Coordinate size and location of curb with equipment as noted in Keynote #7 on A102.
