About this file
This document is a technical specification for a 4-inch, 150# Class, flanged-end, pressure reducing valve with a naval bronze body. The valve must be suitable for installation in a temporary seawater system exposed to marine environments, which can cause dezincification and de-aluminization. Acceptable materials include plastic, epoxy-coated iron, tin bronze, silicon bronze, 70-30 CUNI, and valve bronze.
The specification details the required performance characteristics, including a pressure range of 30-300 PSI, a capacity of 520 GPM at 50 PSI, and a maximum flow rate of 1,800 GPM. The valve body, trim, pilots, and other components must be made of naval bronze, monel, and stainless steel. The valve must be automatically pilot-controlled to maintain a steady downstream pressure. Valves must be free of defects and comply with all specification requirements. The solicitation is a 100% small business set-aside for the procurement of these pressure reducing valves, with offers due and a firm fixed-price contract to be awarded.

PRESSURE REDUCING VALVE: 4 INCH, 150 # Class Flanged Ends, Naval Bronze Body.
A. Service: This valve will be installed into a temporary seawater system and open to the weather. This exposure to marine environments will cause dezincification and de-aluminization. Unless otherwise specified, acceptable materials are: Plastic, Epoxy-Coated Iron, Tin Bronze (TB), Silicon Bronze (SB), 70-30 CUNI (CX), and Valve Bronze. The Unified Numbering System (UNS) alloy numbers for metals are: C51000, C 52400, C90300, C90500, C92200, C96400 and N04400.
B. Models known to meet PSNS & IMF specifications:
