About this file

This document is an amendment to a solicitation for courier services. The amendment provides answers to technical questions from interested offerors. The amendment maintains the original due date for quotes, which must be emailed only to the specified contracting officer. A minimum of two temperature-controlled coolers per site are required for sample transportation, with a one in one out rotation. Ice packs rather than dry ice must be used. Three daily pickups and deliveries are specified for one location. SPS vehicles with wipeable surfaces are acceptable but not required. Contractors may route pickups together and determine their own vehicle needs to meet requirements.

1. What kind of vehicles are being utilized on this contract? Are SUVS going to be sufficient or will vans be required? Currently SUVs are being used. The contractor may use any vehicles as long as coolers can fit and can get around in snow.

2. What size of temperature controlled coolers will be needed? Is there anyway we could get a specific brand you would like to be utilized? Or sizes that will be needed?

Marketlab dual chamber Specimen Transport tote 16”Wx9”Dx9.5”H or the equivalent.

3. How much Dry ice would be required per CBOC or pickup? Also will there be a cooler rotation for each location? No Dry ice will be used; ice packs ONLY. Minimum 2 coolers per site for a 1 in 1 out rotation.

4. Lincoln CBOC states one roundtrip pickup per day but on D. Daily T/TS Laboratory Delivery Requirements it has three pickup times and drop off times listed, can you confirm it is three times a day? It is three times per day.

5. I see SPS will be transported, we have a few contracts with SPS involved, will you be required SPS vehicles for this contract, with wipeable surfaces? We are currently using Ford Transit Vans on our other locations is that what will be needed for this?

Yes, wipeable surfaces are mandatory. Vehicle type is up to contractor.

6. If the times fit is it okay to route pickups together for better pricing? Yes, routing pick-ups and deliveries is ok.

7. How many vehicles are required for this contract? It is up to the contractor to determine the number of vehicles needed to meet the requirements as per the statement of work. Failure to meet the requirements will result in a Termination for Default.
