DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM OR INFORMATION BEING REQUESTED

Please be specific as possible:

1. Confirm work is to be performed after-hours or on weekends to avoid disruption to hospital when units are taken out-of-service.

2. Since work is to swap out existing units for new and no new work is being performed in the interstitial areas, can the 16-hour Operation and Maintenance Asbestos Training and Respirator fit test requirement be removed from the solicitation?

3. Is there any requirement to upgrade the existing electrical to accommodate the new equipment? If so, please provide direction.

4. Please confirm Offeror can possess a B, C-20 or C-38 license.

PROJECT MANAGER’S RESPONSE

1. All work is to be performed after-hours or on weekends.

2. Securing power to the units is done through the interstitial. Any person entering an interstitial space or disrupting ceiling tiles must have asbestos certification.

3. Electrical power will not need to be upgraded.

4. Correct, Offeror may possess a Class “B” General Building, C-20 or C-38

Contractor license. Offerors are advised of related FAR and VAAR Clauses mailto:cecil.nichols@va.gov reference Limitations on Subcontracting apply. Reference solicitation Section E.4 Evaluation and Section C.3 and C.8.
