X X X X This amendment provides for Questions and Answers for the solicitation.

(1) Question: Is a bid bond required?

Answer:

No, a bid bond is not required.

(2) Question: The RFP requires contractor to provide new conduit, wire and boxes for the light layout in the warehouse.

Please provide a plan or layout showing the light layout and the location of electrical panel.

Answer: This was discussed at the site walk. There are 80 lights t hat need to be distributed uniformly in three rows.

The contractor will need to provide whatever parts and material needed as listed in the scope of work. This should have been estimated at the job walk by the contractor.

Questions and Answers continued:

3. Question: The CXB CREE light fixture is discontinued. Can this be replaced with a KBL CREE fixture which seems to have taken its place?

Answer: Agree with installing the KBL Cree lights instead of the CXB. Please ensure this new light follows the same specifications as the old light.

4. Question: Will the VA accept an "equal" to the CREE light fixture?

Answer: We will only accept Cree High Bay’s to be installed. We will not accept any substitute.

5. Question: Please clarify if Past Performance is required in the submission of the proposal for the above solicitation.

Answer: Past performance references is not required. See page 36. Past performance will be reviewed per the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).

6. Question: Should offerors provide a copy of Evidence of Insurance?

Answer: All documents are listed in the solicitation, page 36. Insurance will be requested from the Awardee.

7. Question: Is there a government estimate?

Answer: Contract is responsible to use their knowledge and bid on the requirement. The government estimate is not available.

8. Question: What is the desired distance from the floor to the bottom of the light shade?

Answer: The distance between the light shade and the floor will be 16 feet.

9. Question: Are existing circuits to be re-used from the lights being removed?

Answer: The existing circuits are to be reused.

10. Question: Can we use a scissor lift between the racks that are motorized? What is the maximum distance available between the racks?

Answer: Scissor lifts can be used but not inside the racks. Distance between the racks range from 3-6 feet. Most likely scaffolding will need to be assembled in these areas. Please bid accordingly.

11. Question: Will the VA clear some of the floor areas where we are working or is contractor responsible for relocating items?

Answer: The VA will clear floor space for you to work. We will coordinate this on our end.

12. Question: Can the existing switches be re-used?

Answer: Please replace all existing light switches with new ones.

13. Question: Where is the electric panel that powers the lights? What is the VA panel number for that panel?

Answer: Panel (HE) is in room 136 of building 149.

14. Question: Can we do one row at a time to hang lights?

Answer: Working on one row of lights at a time will be fine.

15. Question: What are the work hours for this project?

Answer: All work to be completed during normal business hours 7:00am to 5:00pm.
