Brand Name or Equal Worksheet (“Salient Characteristics”) v 2.0
Brand Name Item:
1) Essential/significant physical, functional, or performance characteristics.
Six or more clinical ergonomic microscopes with full sets of objective lenses and a setup for face-to-face teaching (including flipping condenser, binocular head with 4 oculars, slide stage).
One additional clinical microscope (model and set up for larger dissection specimens).
One clinical ergonomic microscopes with a full set of objective lenses for each and setup for face-to-face teaching and immunofluorescence (IF) capability and microscope camera. (including flipping condenser, trinocular head with 4 oculars, slide stage, camera software). Camera must be able to provide high quality live feed for tumor board and capture high quality images using .JPG format.
Configuring/retrofitting existing microscope equipment in order to meet required salient characteristics is acceptable.
2) Complete generic identification –
8 clinical microscopes (or more) and one microscope camera (including camera software)
3) Applicable model/make/catalog number –
Six Olympus BX43 microscopes, one Olympus CK X 53 microscope, one Olympus BX53 microscope (with IF capability), one DP74 Microscope camera (with software).
4) Manufacturer name – Olympus (aka Evident Scientific).
Per VAAR 811.104 and 811.105, I certify the following regarding the above information:
· The salient characteristics listed above are essential to the Government’s requirements.
· To my knowledge, the restrictions listed above will not limit the acquisition to an item peculiar to one manufacture.
