RFIs for Renovate Sterile Processing Service, Solicitation #36C25921R0003

1. In reviewing the latest Pre-solicitation for Renovate Sterile Processing Service, Solicitation #36C25921R0003, I am looking for clarification as to the actual place of performance for this project.

The cover pages note it is the Salt Lake City VAMC, however on page 6 of the

Solicitation, it is asking for knowledge of the Cheyenne WY area under Criterion

5. Please clarify if you would please – is it indeed Salt Lake or Cheyenne WY?

Salt Lake City VA Medical Center

George E. Wahlen Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

500 Foothill Drive

Salt Lake City, UT 84148-0001

Salt Lake County

2. Could you provide a little clarification on the resume required for AAMI. I’m assuming this is the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation. There isn’t an

AAMI certification per se. They provide the certification and continuing education platform for numerous certifications – CBET, CHTM, and CRES. Are you looking for an equipment planner with one of these certifications?

ANSWER. Correct. The desired certification from The AAMI Credentials

Institute (ACI) is CISS or equivalent. In lieu of certification, resume should demonstrate five or more years of working with medical sterilization equipment from STERIS Corporation or equivalent.

3. Does the limit of 30 pages include Part II forms?

ANSWER No

4. It appears that Civil Engineer will not have a role in this project. Please confirm whether this discipline is required.

ANSWER A Civil Engineer is required for site preparation work on this project.

5. Which AAMI Certification is required? If none are required, is this a reference only to

AAMI standards?

ANSWER Familiarity with AAMI standards is required. Please see answer to

Question #2.

6. For Criterion 5 Location, should it be Salt Lake City instead of Cheyenne, Wyoming?

The correct location is Salt Lake City, Utah (see question #1). Correction will be made to the solicitation.

RFIs for Renovate Sterile Processing Service, Solicitation #36C25921R0003

7. Does the VA intend to evaluate only the resumes of the key disciplines listed, or is it anticipated that the Offerors will include additional disciplines (e.g., project manager, cost estimator, quality manager)?

ANSWER VA intends to evaluate key disciplines listed and additional disciplines to include project manager, cost estimator, and QC manager.

8. Under evaluation criterion 3 Capacity, the solicitation states that, “offerors will be evaluated on the volume of work awarded by the VA during the 12 months before the closing date;” however, there is nothing in the submission requirement to state this volume of work. Does this mean that your office will look up the award data, or is it presumed that the offeror will supply a summary of that information for the period?

ANSWER VA should look up award data.

9. On page 4 of 11, Criterion 1 – Professional Qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance of required services.

a. For key personnel: it states LEED/Green Globes. Please clarify the requirement, do you require one certification or both of them?

ANSWER Either is acceptable.

10. With all the other SF330 sections required, it would be a challenge to meet this limit, show resumes for each of the above disciplines, and properly address and Section H criteria. Would you consider changing the page limit to 35 pages or excluding the Part

IIs from the page limit?

ANSWER The SF330 will not exceed thirty (30) pages, excluding past performance items (CPARS and/or Past Performance Questionnaires).
