Oklahoma City VA Medical Center Oklahoma City, OK 73104

SCOPE OF WORK AND GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR ELECTRIC CAUTERY

UNITS

1. Background

The Oklahoma City VA Medical Center (OKC VAMC) provides comprehensive surgery service for veterans. We are in need of replacement for our electric cautery units in each of our current operating rooms. The current units are well beyond the end of life and have been in use for over 10 years. The electrocautery units are a basic need for the OR and would drastically limit our ability to perform surgery at the level required for our veterans.

Project Scope

The Oklahoma City VA HCS needs to purchase 10 electric cautery units.

2. Specifications

The Oklahoma City VAMC specifications are designed to outline all the Oklahoma City VAMC Surgery Department and Biomedical Engineering requirements. These requirements will be provided to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) before final approval. The electric cautery units specifications are provided below:

Offerer must meet or exceed these specifications:

Combination electrosurgical generator that incorporates monopolar, bipolar and LigaSure

• Fast vessel-sealing technology to seal vessels in one to four seconds

• Consistently respond to changes in tissue- at a speed of 434,000 times per second- as the device seals

• Four quadrant touch screen with enhanced ease of use, quick settings and easy to understand error alerts

• Improved and enhanced vessel-sealing performance to minimize lateral thermal spread to surrounding tissue

• Recognizes the type of instrument used and automatically configures energy output for consistent results
