1. Can you provide more detailed information on the interior buildout of the containers?

The SOW calls for a celling but does not have any detail on what the walls need to look like, and to achieve a 8’ ceiling height and do the ceiling install we would need to go to a high cube. Is this acceptable?

Answer: No interior ceiling required

2. Do these need to be single trip containers

Answer: Must be able to relocate if needed.

3. Will we need to procure additional containers for the doors on the other end.

Answer: Side roll up doors preferred

4. Would they like the containers to be insulated? (This would reduce the overall width by 8”)

Answer: Insulation is required. 8” is a sacrifice that we can live with.

5. Do the rollup doors need to roll up inside the container or the outside?

Answer: Inside due to weather and sun damage on the unit.

6. They call for steel siding can we just used the exterior of the container, or do we need to apply siding?

Answer: Siding required so as to not give the appearance of a storage unit. Finished appearance required.

7. Can you provide more information on the Secure, Safe, Removable Shelving?

Answer: No shelving required

8. Is there a specification on the paint?

Answer: Beige paint required. Example color ”RAL 1001”

9. Do we need to install flooring over the existing flooring in the containers?

Answer: Yes ¾”, fire Retardant plywood

a. Does the flooring require a coating? Gray epoxy finish

10. Should gutter be installed all the way around the container or just over the door opening.

Answer: No gutters required

11. Is there a dimension for the roll up door?

Answer: 6ft roll doors on side, for 40ft storage unit.

12. What does the final install require?

Answer: Sit in place installation, proper leveling and squaring buy manufacture standards provided by installer, and roll up door function test done upon installation

13. Can you clarify what the requirement of “Easy-opening, customizable doors” is intended to mean?

a. For example, would the cargo container doors that come on conex shipping containers meet this requirement? (they can sometimes be difficult to open/close, but they do come with one or two vertical bars that assist in the opening and closing of each door.

Children or the elderly might have difficulty opening & closing these doors)

Answer: Swinging end doors should have the standard assist bars, the three 6 foot roll up side doors should be spring assisted for easy roll up with exterior handle.

14. Regarding the requirement “Ability to secure stored items to container walls with tie downs or rope”, would QTY(8) lashing rings at the top and QTY(8) lashing rings at the bottom of each long wall suffice for this requirement? (total of 32 lashing rings) Or do the walls need to be able to be fastened to?

Answer: Rings will work

15. What is the intent of the “Anti-theft and vandalism features” requirement?

o Is forced entry prevention the main requirement in order to protect the interior stored items from theft or vandalism?

o Or does the container itself need to be protected from theft or vandalism? (for example, do you need us to provide anchor angles to anchor the containers to the foundation, or do we need to coat the containers with an anti-graffiti coating?

Answer: Doors most have the ability to be secured with a combination or keyed padlock. No graffiti coating required

16. What are the dimensions of the pallets that must be stored within the container? (Note: using conex shipping containers–without building out the walls—would allow ~92.5” of internal width)

Answer: 4 ft X 4ft standard pallet. No sub-walls required

17. What is the purpose of the “Flat Ceiling” requirement?

o Is it for aesthetics? The ability to surface mount items to it? Other?

Answer: No sub-ceiling required in container. 8’6” is good since no flat ceiling is required

18. What is the intent of the drip-rail gutters?

o Are they required in order to prevent water from rolling down the exterior walls? Or are they meant to make the water drain/drip out at the corners of the building? (or both?)

Answer: No gutters are required

19. Is there a required clear opening size for the roll-up doors? If so, what is it? (likely, the height would have to be around 6’ or 7’)

Answer: 7’ H X 6’ W

20. Is there a required clear opening size for the “securable swinging doors on both ends”?

Answer: Standard end doors will be sufficient

21. How are the pallets and other stored items planned to be moved:

o Into/out of the containers? (forklifts? Ramps?)

o Within the containers? (pallet jack?, forklift?)

Answer: Ramps: ramps need to be included with all doors for loading and unloading Part 2: Pallet Jack
