Text version

1. Manual Shade System: “Type 1” is described as visually transparent single-fabric 6000 Series, extra dense Twill Weave 6000 Series 2-3% open; vinyl room darkening shadecloth (single-fabric) blackout material. Are these single shades Yes, and if so, are they to be 2-3% openness or are they to be blackout? 2-3% Or, are they dual shades? Not Dual Shade

2. Motorized Shade System: There are three shade Types described: Type 1 – motorized interior roller shade; Type 5 – motorized interior room darkening roller shade with blackout fabric; and Type 6 – motorized interior “double” solar and room darkening blackout roller shades. Please clarify which windows in Building 15 receive each type of shade. The Motorized shades for Building 15-Theater Area only shall be Type 6- Double Solar and Room Darkening. Remaining windows of the Building 15 shall be Manual Type 1.

3. Will there be any restrictions on the hours we can work on the installation and/or for entering occupied rooms/secure areas? Work hours are M-F 7:30AM-4:30PM. A schedule of access will be required for each week and submitted no later than COB Wednesday the week prior. Adjustments to the schedule will require at least 72 hours to allow the VA to coordinate with the owners of the spaces.

4. Per bid document, the purchase order period of performance shall be delivered and installed no later than 9/30/2020. We are not sure if a project of such magnitude can be completed in the short time frame. Would it be possible to discuss adjusting the time frame to allow for the time it will take (after the order is received) to measure the buildings, manufacture, ship, and install 861 shades? Contractor Period of Performance is 180 days from NTP.
