About this file

This document is a special notice of intent to award a sole source procurement from the Department of Veterans Affairs to Roche Diagnostics Corporation. The VA intends to award a firm-fixed price contract to Roche for service and maintenance of three Roche Benchmark Ultra Instruments for one year with four additional one-year options. The notice specifies line item 0001 is for as-needed service and maintenance. Roche confirms its tissue diagnostic products are proprietary and only available through Roche in the United States. Roche is also the only company able to provide service for these instruments. Interested sources may submit capability statements or proposals within 10 days, which will be considered to determine if a more advantageous option exists than sole sourcing to Roche. If no responses are received, the VA will award the contract to Roche under the authority of only one responsible source being available to meet the agency's requirements.
