Q & As

RFQ Number: 36C25721Q0139

RFQ Title: COVID-Security Screening Guard Services

December 1, 2020

1. Would the VA consider removing this requirement? “License: Contractor shall furnish to the Contracting Officer proof that he/she is licensed and bonded as required by the State of Texas for doing business as a contract security company”. This has not been a requirement for any of the acquisitions for COVID service out of VISN 17 thus far, we current active contracts in Texas with NCO 17 that didn’t require security license. Thank you for your time.

A. Yes, will remove the requirement for “License”.

2. I believe that the screening services requested in no way requires private security licensing within the state of Texas. The services requested and the requirements in Section 5 do not require this licensing. The SOW isn't requesting any form of security or law enforcement services, just attendant screening services, which is not a security or law enforcement function.

I'm humbly asking that you review these specifications and remove the private security guard licensing requirement so that we may provide you with a qualifying proposal.

A. Yes, will remove the requirement for “License”.

3. Since the hourly rate will be different for each location, will the government consider changing the pricing to be hourly for each location?

A. No.

4. What is the occupational (SCA) code for the services?

A. Guard 1 and II

5. I been working on this contract and I can't see how they are only calling for (1) Supervisor.

My questions is based upon the SOW and staffing do you think they could authorize another Guard II Supervisor slot for the Security Operation?

A. No.

6. Is there a Line Item for a Security Patrol Vehicle for the Supervisor?

A. No.

7. Is a Security Patrol Vehicle authorized ?

A. Yes, but the contractor is responsible for proving vehicles.

8. I only seen one Wage Sheet is all the counties covered under that Wage Requirement.

Need to make sure that the correct wages are being paid out.

A. One attachment with all counties included, please open and read document.
