Memorandum

Date: August 20, 2021

From: Kristi Riley, Contract Specialist – Network Contracting Office 16, Houston, TX

Subj: RFQ 36C25621Q1601 / MEDVAMC Questions & Answers #1

To: All Offerors

1. The Michael E. DeBakey Veteran Affairs Medical Center (MEDVAMC) Network Contracting Office

(NCO) 16 received questions in response to Request for Quotation (RFQ) 36C25621Q1601.

2. Please see below for the Offeror’s questions and NCO 16’s respective answers accordingly.

A. Question #1: Is it true that the end user does not want a lock on any of the crash carts?

B. Answer #1: Correct. No key lock is required. The configuration states that instead of the 30” Breakaway locking panel, MEDVAMC requires it to be split into the 21” and 9” breakaway panel.

C. Question #2: The shipment will take up at least 2 x 53-foot trailers; it will be about 85 linear-feet in total. Given this, will MEDVAMC expect to receive all carts in a single shipment?

D. Answer #2: If the carts are pre-assembled, they may arrive as one shipment. If the carts are unassembled, up to 3 shipments will be accepted. Unassembled crash carts shall be assembled by the vendor.

E. Question #3: There is no specification re: locks. Are the crash carts intended to be non-locking?

F. Answer #3: Yes, no key locking.
