This Sources Sought notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government at this time. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine interest and capability of companies that can perform the following:
The Hines VA Hospital (located in Hines, IL) would like to procure Staxi Wheelchairs. Please respond if you can provide the products with the following general specifications:
Key Features (must include all of the following elements) •Fail-safe, automatic braking system (must be in the form of metal frame and or metal pedals) •Non-folding frame (must not be able to fold) •Stackable/nesting capability (to save on storage space) •Lifting armrests •Anti-microbial, PU Coated and Fire Retardant seat cushions •Footrest (non removable but capable of lifting) •Castors (at least 5" in diameter- Urethane material and Sealed bearings) •Anti-tippers (improved patient safety) •Courtesy (storage) rack (holds patient belongings) •Frame: Heavy duty; Formed oval tubing with weight capacity of at least 600lbs.
•Capable of Turning on its own circumference •Wheels: 2 1/8” (54mm) composite wheel. 8“ (203mm) diameter.
Overall specification and measurements: the dimensions of the chair must at minimum measurements: Width: 27” (686mm); Length: 39” (991mm) •Seat to Floor: 21” (534mm) •Back Height: 40.5” (1029mm) •Seat Width: 18” (457mm) Other special specification must also include the following (at the minimum):
•seating: 12.5” (318mm)- needs to be only up to 13" due to space saving measures due to storage issues.
•seat with cushion: 13.5” (343mm) •First chair: 39” (991mm) •(not to exceed) Chair weight: 64lbs (29kg)
• Weight Capacity: 600lbs (227kg)- at the minimum must be 600lbs.
This is not a Request for Proposal or an announcement of a solicitation and no solicitation currently exists. Your responses will be used solely for market research purposes of the Government. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this notice and submissions will not be returned to the sender.
Responses due are to be submitted by e-mail to Brandon Bennett at Brandon.Bennett@va.gov. The information requested must be received no later than 10:00am CDT on 09/06/2019.
