RFI Responses – Upgrade Clean Rooms Phase 4
Question #1: Will the contractor be required to hard pipe new electrical wiring into the stud walls where applicable? If so, what size and type of pipe would be required?
Response #1: Flexible metal conduit is acceptable for the stud cavities, but it cannot be horizontally extended more than six (6) feet above the ceiling tiles. If exposed conduits are needed, Electrical Metal Tubing (EMT) will be required, with a minimum diameter of 3/4".
Question #2: Will the data runs need to be hard piped into the stud cavities? If so, what size and type of pipe would be required?
Response #2: Data cables do not need to be hard piped into the stud cavities. If data cables need to be installed on a concrete or brick wall, EMT will be required.
