SPECIAL NOTICE
NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE
Electrodes
The Department of Veterans Affairs, The Department of Veteran Affairs, Louis Stokes Medical Center (CLE VAMC), Medical Service, 10701 East Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44106, intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106 - Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. The NAICS code is 334513 with a small business size standard of 750. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with Nuero Nexus, 3985 Research Park Drive, Suite 100, Ann Arbor, MI 48108 for Electrodes.
These electrodes are a required supply for our funded Merit Review. The electrodes represent the standard for rodent electrophysiology experiments, and the future of rehabilitation electrodes in the clinic. The goal of our study is to improve the longevity of performance of the devices by applying our surface coating. We will compare the coated to the uncoated devices. The vendor is simply making their standard devices and providing them to us to use for our study. We will perform the modifications to the devices after receiving them.
Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by Friday, May 31, 2019 at 5PM EST. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
