SPECIAL NOTICE
NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE
Bloodstream Infection Diagnosis System
The Department of Veterans Affairs, The Dayton Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, 4100 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio 45428 intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1)(i) - Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. The NAICS code is 334516 with a small business size standard of 1,000. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with Accelerate Diagnostics, Inc., 3950 South Country Club Road #470, Tucson, AZ 85714 for an Accelerate Pheno T System.
The Bloodstream Infection Diagnosis System tests positive blood culture bottle samples to provide rapid species identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing results for the most common bacteria that cause bloodstream infections. The system uses automated fluorescence in situ hybridization technology with morphokinetic cellular analysis to achieve this.
