Regional Procurement Office (RPO) - East intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Nikon Instruments, Inc. to purchase the Nikon A1R HD Multiphoton Imaging System addition to augment with the existing A1R confocal unit for the research department at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. The Nikon A1R HD Multiphoton Imaging System addition is requested to upgrade the existing confocal package utilized by several labs at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. The Nikon A1R will allow investigators to perform cutting-edge, state-of-the-art confocal and multi-photon microscopy in order to collect publication quality images and provide data for future grant submissions.

SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS

The following are the salient characteristics for the multiphoton system:

· System must be compatible with the Nikon A1R Confocal Microscope

· System must include Nikon NIS-Elements software

· System must be able to acquire and analyze publication-quality multichannel fluorescent, phase-contrast color images of various sample types and deep tissue imaging

· System must be able to simplify workflow and speed up imaging acquisition time

· System must be assembled on new air table

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Any responsible sources who wish to identify their interest and capability to provide this equipment or equipment that is compatible must notify this Contracting Officer at Millicent.Covert@va.gov NLT Monday, February 6, 2023 by 11:59 AM EST. Telephone responses will not be accepted. Upon receipt of the interested parties' notification, the Contracting Officer will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations.
