The investigative team will study the hemodynamics of the human heart and its relationship to in vivo imaging measurements of blood flow and perfusion parameters; therefore, a system that generates a physiologic flow in a 3D printed model of the heart is required. The requirement should have and should meet the following requirements:

•Specifically designed for cardiovascular hydrodynamic testing enabling performance assessment of prosthetic heart valves under simulated cardiac conditions.
•Specialized system with flexibility to integrate with the University’s flow visualization system as well as be stand-alone for medical device and heart valve testing.
•Products are manufactured in an ISO 13485 certified manufacturing facility ensuring lab will meet ISO standards in the research performed.
•Software developed so that it meets the stringent design verification, validation and testing requirements to comply with FDA and ISO 5840 requirements. This provides a product that will ensure lab will meet ISO standards in the research performed.
•The Pulsatile Pump is a robust system that will withstand heavy research use in projects as well as provide the flexibility to conduct the variety of experimental cardiovascular flow studies needed for bioengineering research projects.
•Compatibility with existing ViVitro products in the lab ensuring commonality of spares, training and support without requiring replacement of existing devices or retraining of staff.
