Dingell VA Medical Center, Detroit, MI. The grant is to study the gut microbiome in numerous health conditions that affect Veterans to include colorectal cancer, Gulf War Illness, Parkinson’s disease, traumatic brain injury and Type 1 Diabetes. To carry out this research, the Illumina MiSeq system is required to sequence the 16S hypervariable region of bacterial rRNA. The following equipment will be purchased:

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Any responsible sources who wish to identify their interest and capability to provide this equipment or equipment that is compatible must notify this Contracting Specialist at Millicent.Covert@va.gov NLT Monday, August 20, 2018 by noon EST. Telephone responses will not be accepted. Upon receipt of the interested parties' notification, the Contracting Officer will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations.
