March 2010 Intent to Sole Source: MRI Calibration Phantoms 15212-5319 36C24E18Q9504 N 334516 US Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Service Area Office (SAO) East 323 North Shore Drive, Suite 500 Pittsburgh PA 15212-5319 Lynn Portman lynn.portman@va.gov lynn.portman@va.gov The Department of Veterans Affairs, Salt Lake City VA Medical Center intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, with Psychology Software Tools for MRI Calibration Phantoms. Procurement of the MRI Calibration Phantoms is in support of the Research Study “Chronic Effects of Neurotrauma Consortium, Neuroimaging Core and will provide high quality brain trauma imaging capabilities and to gain input from other major clinical sites and laboratories. Psychology Software Tools can supply diffusion phantoms that can be used to assess and quantify both anisotropic and isotropic diffusion characteristics with a single temperature controlled device. The phantom is compatible with all current generation 32/64 channel head coils and can be used to quantitively assess and compare scanner performance between data collection sites. Psychology Software Tools is the only manufacturer of phantoms that have these capabilities and have a patent pending. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than July 10th, 2018, 4:00, EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Lynn Portman at lynn.portman@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
