DESCRIPTION
MENT OF WORK:
1. INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND:
Neurology Service requires seven ambulatory Electrophotography (EEG) monitoring systems to Updated outdated equipment and increase access to EEG ambulatory procedures and impact a higher number of patients.
The purpose of this Statement of Work (SOW) is to outline the tasks and responsibilities of the awarded contractor concerning provisions, installation, integration, and implementation of equipment for an EEG system and Windows software upgrade at the James A. Haley VAMC, Tampa, FL.
The contractor must provide all necessary tools, equipment/hardware, software, licenses, installation, warranty, and training following this SOW.
Primary Goals: This procurement is to procure a complete EEG system including equipment, accessories, review stations, licenses, and software to expand the patient capacity of the current Government-owned EEG system.
Equipment: All equipment must be new, state of the art, and not recertified nor refurbished. All equipment must comply with current VA requirements for allowable operating system platforms.
Industry Standards: Unless otherwise stated, all equipment must be held to current industry standards for such equipment as present within the current market for EEG system equipment, supplies, and related services.
The contractor must meet all requirements in the Equipment Minimum Requirements section.
The requested equipment is the most recent generation for easy portable electroencephalography Machines. The latest technology will provide Neuro physicians with the appropriate tools to better diagnose and treat diseases and neurological conditions in the ambulatory setting. The purchase of this equipment will bring multiple benefits to our patients and the institution. First, it will guarantee that our patients receive an outstanding evaluation and treatment in this specialty area.
2. Scope of Work:
The requested vendor will install new equipment with the support of Biomedical personnel. EEG Systems use electrodes placed on a patient's scalp to measure, amplify, and display in graphic form, and record the weak electrical signals generated by the brain. EEG monitors continuously show processed EEG signals in visual form over time to detect waveform and pattern changes. EEG Systems are used for diagnostic EEG studies, documenting seizure activity, assessing anesthesia levels, polysomnography, and monitoring patients in critical care units and operating rooms. Comment by Langley, Christopher M. (Tampa VA): Biomed is aware? Comment by Nicholas, Shari A.: I reached out Julie Lybanon and she said When new equipment is received it must first be inventoried by Property Management. That automatically triggers a work order for inspection to Biomed.
