TELEVISION CABLE SIGNAL SERVICE REQUIREMENT - SOLICITATION NUMBER 36C24818Q0613

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1. Question: Can you provide a breakdown of the number of TVs by floor and room?

Response: I’ve attached a spreadsheet that shows the number of beds per area by room. We have estimated that there are around 32 other drops that we need for waiting areas, etc. We also will need room for expansion as there are projects going on that will eventually require TV service to be added.

2. Question: The scope of work associated with this project will require 6 months to complete.

The solicitation request has a target activation date of August 1, 2018. Will the VA allow bids that require up to six months of installation, for a complete conversion?

Response: The idea would be to have at least the DMark/Source for the distribution system in place immediately. Our current coaxial system is in need of updating but can handle the distribution throughout the hospital. At least until all of the needed updating is completed.

3. Question: Can we have an extension on the response date? Extending the date for response delivery to June 8, 2018?

Response: After speaking with the CO it looks like there will be a one week extension.

4. Question: Is the VA requiring that the existing coaxial system be replaced?

Response: The requirement is for new coaxial cable as well as any needed hardware be replaced where it is necessary.

5. Question: Is the VA requiring the contractor to only replace defective cables, taps, splitters and amplifiers?

Response: Repairs should be done as needed. The vendor is also to provide a distribution system to provide television services to the patients. Another key requirement is for the TV distribution be completed without the installation of a headend system. This requirement is listed in the SOW under the Introduction.

6. Question: Is union labor required?

Response: No, contractor’s employees are not required to belong to a labor union.

7. Question: Did any or how many vendors attended the site visit today?

Response: Yes there were two vendors.
