Vendor Questions and Answers Vendor 1
1. Concerning the Combined Solicitation 36C24718Q0542, page 2 calls for a brand name Cal/Amp Item number LMU 3030 Fleet Manager Device. Cal/Amp does not make a LMU 3030 Fleet Manager Device but they do make a LMU 300 or a LMU 3035, so my question is, might the model number be a miss-print?
The Model LMU 3030 has been discontinued. The LMU 3035 will be the device requested.
Vendor 2
1. Would you have a list of vehicles: year, make and model?
Yes, the list of vehicles is posted as an attachment.
2. Will the vehicles be at the respective locations listed and be brought to the locations for installations? Are we able to schedule a series of days to complete the installation at one time?
It is possible to bring vehicles to the respective locations on a pre-determined installation date agreed upon by both parties and approved by the Contracting Officer. The Government makes no guarantee that all the vehicles can/will be on location.
3. For the instructor led training, would WebEx training be acceptable or is in person training required?
The training of the 2 fleet office personnel and Engineering AO would need to be conducted in person, while training the other drivers could be completed by using WebEx.
4. Are the people who will require onsite training at one location (what location) and would there be access to a training room with projector and access to internet?
The staff are here at the Charleston medical center and I could reserve our conference room here that has a monitor and access to the internet.
5. In the past We’ve encountered that no physical alterations of the vehicles are allowed to GSA leased vehicles, including hard wiring installation of electronics without GSA approval. The LMU 3035 is plug in and meets this requirement. Hardware installations such as the LMU-2630 would require vehicle alterations and a higher cost.
In review of 2 requirements in the SOW, we have questions, comments and concerns Driver safety in-vehicle hardware module which alerts the driver to behaviors outside set guidelines. The module includes LED lights to display information to the driver in regards to safe driving metrics. Metrics include accelerations, decelerations and turns. The LMU 3035 would not be able to deliver this The driver does not need to see these types of notifications. We only need to be notified by fleet vehicle office staff seeing these notifications via the vendor’s system (real time or by reporting feature).
6. The system shall be capable of recording Position-Velocity-Time data at a sampling rate every 1-8 seconds. This wouldn't be a problem but would rather substantially raise the data usage from a traditional 30/60/120 second reporting solution. The sampling could still be gathered but reported at an interval that still provides the data needed but at an economical rate.
Agree with the vendor that the sampling should be gathered at an interval at a more economical rate. Again, this is just data that only the fleet vehicle office staff would need via the vendor’s system.
