DESCRIPTION

Salient Characteristics Transaction #: Sentinel Suction Regulators

(A) Functions to be performed.

Provide a wide range of equipment/supplies needed to appropriately treat patients needing Suction at the bed side, etc.

(B) The Charles George VA Medical Center (CGVAMC) has a need to procure to replace all the facility’s Medical Gas/Vacuum System suction regulators. Currently CGVAMC has outdated suction regulators and per national standards are required to be standardized. These Two Hundred and Three (203) Sentinel Suction Regulator, Analog, Continuous/Intermittent, USA, Tubing Nipple, DISS connection items and these Fifty-Nine (59) Sentinel Suction Regulator, Analog, Continuous/Intermittent, USA, Tubing Nipple, Chemetron connection items are being requested to bring the facility up to date. The current regulators are both manufacturers supported and to follow VA mandates to have back-up/duplicate regulators. Typically, these are time sensitive and unpredictable in nature. Having appropriate regulators to provide proper suction at the bedside for patients is critical. These are basic suction regulators nearly universal in the hospital setting and are a glaring deficiency in our current portfolio.
