This is sources sought announcement only. The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research and obtain information from qualified businesses with special interest in seeking VA certified Service-Disabled Veteran owned Business (SDVOSB); Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) and Small Business for small business concerns. No solicitation is being issued at this time. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. Your responses will be due by Thursday, July 13, 2023, 11:00AM (EST) to the point of contact listed below. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 6, and the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center anticipate a delivery for Ice Machines. This is a VHA Directive requirement for the facility to obtain equipment.

Equipment:

Primary Care needs 5 Ice and Water Dispensers for the following Primary Care clinics: Clayton CBOC, Raleigh 1 Clinic, Raleigh 3 CBOC, Hillandale 1 Clinic, and 1D Primary Care Clinic. Ice and Water Dispenser should consist of:

25 or 50 lb (11.4 or 22.7 kg) ice storage capacity Counter-height removable air- or water-cooled ice machine with up to 425 lb (193.0 kg) daily production of Chewblet ice

- modular ice machine slides out from behind lower front panel

- soft, chewable, compressed nugget ice is preferred over cubes1 and is ideal for patient care

- Quiet Night™ sleep mode turns off ice machine when idle Designed with sanitation in mind

- automatic self-flushing of ice machine removes impurities

- drain cup provides internal air gap for added protection of food zone components from drain line contaminants

- Agion® silver-based antimicrobial provides protection of key ice and water contact components2

- one-hand lever or SensorSAFE infrared ice dispense Dependable design, easy to service and clean

- cleaning and sanitizing of entire machine takes only 1 hour

- LED control board provides at-a-glance machine status

- panels are easily removed for accessibility to all components

- ice machine parts are common across all Symphony Plus dispensers

- stainless steel evaporator and auger deliver long life Environmentally responsible

- meets Consortium for Energy Efficiency Tier 2 specifications

- R404a refrigerant has zero ozone depletion potential

- 3 years parts and labor, 5 years compressor The appropriate NAICS Code 312113 and the small business size standard are 750 interested firms are reminded that in accordance with FAR 4.12, prospective contractors shall complete electronic annual representations and certifications in conjunction with FAR 4.11 required registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) database prior to award of a contract.
