The purpose of this solicitation amendment is to provide answers to solicitation questions and provide the date, time and location of the new Bid opening date.
1. The Bid opening Date will be July 17th, 2019 at 3:00pm Est
2. The Bid opening will be held at Bldg 500 in Rm 2K-115
3. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged
Matthew Gray Contracting Officer 1.Would it be possible to get cut sheets on the existing unit with modular split sizes for each split.
RESPONSE : There are no existing drawings available.
2.Will the temporary unit be furnished with the necessary hoses for connection to the chilled water system and is there a tap in the existing chilled water piping to allow for temporary connections or will we need to include the installation of the necessary tees and valves.
RESPONSE : The temporary unit, contrary to the Bid Set of Construction Documents, is to be purchased by the contractor. This purchase or rental is to include the required hoses for temporary connection to the temporary AHU
3. Per the mechanical drawings, the VAMC will be providing the temporary AHU. Please confirm if this is accurate.
RESPONSE : The temporary unit is to be purchased and not turned over to the VA at the end of the project or rented. The temporary unit is to be as follows: Vertical configured Air unit with: a minimum of one split for transfer of unit components through mechanical room, open return air, MERV 8 filter, cooling coil, and direct drive plenum fan and upblast discharge. Unit is to have unit mounted VFD drive for variable volume operation. Capacity is to be 12,800 CFM; cooling coil is to be 500 CFM max face velocity, air entering – 80.5°F DB, 66.7°F WB, air leaving - 54°F DB, 53.8°F WB, 44 5°F ent chilled water, max water PD – 8 ft, fan external static pressure – 1.7 inches, 480V/3Ø.
4. Are there any cut sheets on the temporary AHU that can be provided as part of the bidding documents?
RESPONSE : See attached.
5. Are duct detectors going to be required on the temporary AHU?
RESPONSE : No.
6. MH404A references chilled water isolation valves as well as LPS and LPR isolation valves. Please confirm if the valves indicated are operational or not.
RESPONSE : These valves should be considered as reusable.
7. With the upcoming holiday Thursday, many of our vendors/subcontractors are taking an extended weekend. Even if RFI answers are provided tomorrow, there is effectively only 1-2 working days prior to the bid on Wednesday, July 10th. Will the bid date be extended?
RESPONSE : The deadline for receipt of bids has been extended until Wednesday 7/17/19 at 3:30pm local time. Bid opening will be held in Room 2K-115 located on the 2nd floor of the VA Richmond Main Medical Center (Building 500).
8. What is above and below the service bays?
RESPONSE : The full height of the interstitial space is above the service bay.
9. Are the bay ceilings open?
RESPONSE : There is an interstitial space above the floor, There is only a minimal depth between the ceiling of the space and the interstitial space. The interstitial space is where most of the distribution of the systems is located.
10. Please confirm if each phase as indicated on the drawings is to be completed in its entirety before moving onto the next phase.
RESPONSE : Yes.
