About this file

This is Amendment 0001 to RFQ 36C24425Q0163, issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 4 in Philadelphia, to answer questions received regarding the Scope Drying Cabinet requirement. The amendment maintains the original RFQ due date of December 17th, 2024 at 12:00 PM.

The Q&A clarifies several requirements: roll-top/tambour doors are not required and regular hung doors are acceptable; the preferred color is dark green but any color is acceptable; size requirements (24" D x 94" H) cannot be modified as they are based on room constraints; internal luminal drying is not required for the cabinets; and the cabinets must be compatible with Olympus scopes. Multiple vendor questions about alternative sizes (95" H, 96" H, or 150" W) were rejected due to room size constraints. The amendment makes no other changes to the original solicitation terms.

S05 RFQ 36C24425Q0163 Question Log

Question – Harloff has quoted the cabinets with a tambour (roll up) door, is this a requirement?

Response – The roll top door is not a requirement. Regular hung doors are fine.

Question – Preferred color?

Response – Dark Green, but any is fine

Question – Equipment must not exceed 24" D x 94" H per the established dimensions.” We have an equivalent solution that measure 95” H. Would this difference in height disqualify our proposal?

Response – The size requirements are based on the room size and can not be adjusted.

Question – The requested equipment part number includes tambour roll-up doors however this is not specified in the salient characteristics. Does the VA require the included doors on the equipment or would an alternative door type be needed?

Response – The roll top door is not a requirement. Regular hung doors are fine.

Question -- The size restrictions would preclude some manufacturers. Can the VA provide a detailed explanation how and why its solicitation mandates the follow size restrictions?

Response – The size requirements are based on the room size and cannot be adjusted.

Question - We can provide comparable scope cabinets but would need to provide a max height of 96” or add 6” to the width for a max of 150”. Are these parameters acceptable or do they exclude us from bid?

Response – The size requirements are based on the room size and cannot be adjusted.

Question - The Model Number that is requested is a Tambour (roll-up) door model, but the Salient Characteristics do not seem require that. May we bid a standard door model as it will be less costly?

Response – The roll top door is not a requirement. Regular hung doors are fine.

Question - If a Tambour door is required, can it be plastic or composite rather than metal?

Response – The roll top door is not a requirement. Regular hung doors are fine.

Question - The Salient Characteristics require the cabinet to be compatible with Olympus scopes but does not require internal lumen drying. Per the ST 91 industry guidelines, is internal lumen drying a requirement of this cabinet? If so, is it a requirement to have documented clinical data on the drying time and efficiency?

Response - Internal luminal drying is not required for these cabinets.
