About this file
This special notice from the Department of Veterans Affairs announces the agency's intent to award a sole-source contract for preventative maintenance services on Nikon AXR microscopes located at the VA Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. The contract would have a one-year base period of performance from September 29, 2023 through September 28, 2024. As the only responsible source that can meet the agency's requirement for service on these specific Nikon microscope models, the notice does not solicit competitive proposals but rather informs the public of the sole-source award. Interested parties have until September 5, 2023 to provide clear evidence that competition would be more advantageous to the government. The statement of work specifies that the contractor will provide on-site preventative maintenance services on the microscopes as needed to support tissue imaging and research on post-traumatic stress disorder at the medical center's laboratory.
