Statement of Work (SOW)

1.0 Introduction (Provide a brief description of what you are buying).

This is for the procurement of an ECG software solution to streamline the Hospital in Home Program’s use of this technology for White River Junction VA Healthcare System. This will allow the clinicians to use medical-grade acquisition software to provide a higher quality of care to their patients.

2.0 Background (Provide any historical information necessary to understand how and why the requirement evolved and where it is headed. Include appropriate information to help the reader/contractor understand the requirement).

With the everchanging healthcare environment, home healthcare is increasingly being integrated as part of the standard of care in the medical field. These changes require new solutions to accommodate the clinicians providing care. Most ECG systems are bulky and heavy (10-20 pounds) and designed specifically for use at a medical facility, normally mounted onto a cart. The design of these units are not conducive to providing home healthcare. A simple and effective solution would be to use the laptops to obtain a diagnostic ECG that the clinicians chart on during home visits. These laptops have all the necessary electronics when paired with a CAM (Cardiac Acquisition Module) to obtain a medical-grade ECG signal which can then be analyzed by a physician back at the medical center. This alternative solution will enable this process to be streamlined and improve the quality of care that can be provided in this setting. In completing market research, ECG software is readily available, however, the enterprise-level software solution that integrates into a medical center’s EMR is lacking on most of these solutions.

3.0 Scope (Provide an overview of the PWS emphasizing the most important aspects of your requirement and defining the boundaries of the contractor’s performance responsibilities).
